"What do you think? The World's Largest Art Piece made entirely of takeout food packets and utensils." — Phineas[src] |
The World's Largest Art Piece is an artwork put together by Phineas and Ferb with their friends' help as a way of reusing stored items.
History[]
Phineas and Ferb decide to help their father with the task of cleaning the garage's drawers and boxes. Alongside Buford and Baljeet, they start to pick up objects, finding a mashup of a spoon and a fork. Amazed by the fusion of aesthetics and utility, the boys become inspired to create their own work of art. Their friends take the opportunity to comment on the items they possess in their houses' cabinets, further instigating the boys.
With a plethora of unorthodox items in hand, the kids begin their artistic production, discovering the process to be more fun than they originally imagined. Some time later, the huge material composition is complete. Isabella comes to the backyard in time to witness it, though with an ulterior motive of distraction in mind. Following a walk through the construction, she tries to keep Phineas from seeing the postwoman, unsucessfully. Before he can read her love letter, he is affected by an external ray, causing him to undo the artwork ("Operation Crumb Cake").
Design[]
The World's Largest Art Piece is a giant art construction composed entirely of takeout food packets and utentils. Taking the form of a monument, the piece contains an apparatus tree, an appliance wheel skyscraper, three orange columns, a blue pillar, a red-orange column, a frame-patterned diagonal red roof, and three painting recreations in the green bottom sections.
Mechanics[]
Due to its constitution, the designs within the World's Largest Art Piece can be easily climbed either by hand or using a chopstick ladder, enabling different views of the project. The unusual choice of base objects permits the assembly of a wide array of shapes, whilst giving an eccentric charm to it.
Background Information[]
- In reality, the world's largest art sculpture is City by Michael Heizer, standing at 1.25 mi (2.01 km) in length.
- When Phineas wonders about the name of the spoon-fork blend, Ferb responds that it is called a "foon" in the UK. While this is true, the more common designation for the item is "spork".
- According to Baljeet and Buford, their houses have honey and catsup, and red pepper flakes and tubs of grated cheese, in that order. Based on this, it can be presumed that the food packets come from them, while the utensils are Phineas and Ferb's.
- Upon seeing the first part of the art piece, Baljeet compares it to Tadashi Kawamata's Chairs For Abu Dhabi sculpture. Not missing a beat, Ferb snarkily replies with a made-up work entitled the Sub Lyric Pile Killabuster with Onion on Marble in Salzburg, Austria.
- Baljeet and Isabella's first reactions to the artistic production are both expressed by the adjective "artsy".
- One of the paintings replicated in the artwork is Thomas Gainsborough's The Blue Boy, which is put together by Baljeet with red pepper flakes.
