Rollercoaster[]

Ginger and Katie in the crowd

Katie and Ginger make a cameo.

  • The events of this episode are later revisited in "Phineas and Ferb's Quantum Boogaloo", with the battle between Agent P and Heinz Doofenshmirtz being one of main events that alters the future. It is again revisited in "Rollercoaster: The Musical!", in which the entire episode is recreated in song-and-dance format.
  • The cars that Phineas and Ferb use for their coaster are the same as those used at the state fair, and several of the kids that rode with them at the state fair rode their new coaster.
  • This is the first episode where Phineas and Ferb characters have gone to space.
    • This is the first episode where Phineas, Ferb, Isabella, and the Fireside Girls have gone to space.
  • This is the first episode with a song in the end credits that wasn't featured in the episode.
  • Phineas' personality seems to be rather relaxed and indifferent in this episode alone, as seen in his conversations with Candace and Isabella. In later episodes, he's more upbeat, optimistic, and naive.
  • Katie and Ginger make an early cameo in this episode; they appear in a crowd shot during the unveiling of the coaster.
  • In the Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah! scene, if looked at close enough, a sign that reads: "Exclamation Finance" can be seen.
  • The door and window on the side of the helicopter together bear a strong resemblance to the Ukrainian flag.
  • Phineas' line: "...and boredom is something of up with which I will not put!" is a take off on a quotation (often misattributed) from Winston Churchill as a way of preventing a sentence from ending in a preposition.
  • This is the first episode where Dr. Doofenshmirtz's invention doesn't end with the "-inator" suffix.
  • Mt. Rushmore, the Eiffel Tower, and the Statue of Liberty can be seen in this episode, though the Eiffel Tower and Statue of Liberty shouldn't have been able to bend due to them being solid metal.
  • "I'm Lindana and I Wanna Have Fun!" can be heard as "elevator music" when Candace and her mom are shopping at the Super Food Stuff Mart.
  • This episode is referenced many times later, with some scenes from this episode being used in several other episodes.
  • Candace saying "Will you hold it down? I am trying to use the phone!" is later referenced by the quotations said by Constance, "Will you hold it down? I am trying to use the quill!" in "The Monster of Phineas-n-Ferbenstein", and said by Carl, "Will you stop that? I am trying to have a conversation!" in "I Was a Middle Aged Robot".
  • As Phineas and Ferb ride on the rollercoaster, they pass by or through many things they will later include as some of their daily projects, including a tub of mud ("Spa Day"), a car wash ("At the Car Wash"), a construction site ("The Doof Side of the Moon"), an airplane ("De Plane! De Plane!"), Mount Rushmore ("Candace Loses Her Head"), the Eiffel Tower ("Not Phineas and Ferb", "Phineas and Ferb: Summer Belongs to You!"), and outer space ("Out to Launch", "The Chronicles of Meap", "Meapless in Seattle").
  • When Candace looks into the backyard to see that the boys are not there, a horror sting can be heard. The horror sting will later be heard in "Raging Bully", "Run Away Runway", "Comet Kermillian", "The Flying Fishmonger", "Backyard Aquarium", and "Rollercoaster: The Musical!". Also, a different variations can be heard in "I Scream, You Scream", "Leave the Busting to Us!", "The Remains of the Platypus", and "The Doonkelberry Imperative".
  • Doofenshmirtz's giant magnet can be seen in later episodes.
  • In the musical version of this episode, when Candace is screaming at the poster in the store, it is shown that she did want to yell at some cheese.
  • The fate of the rollercoaster is revealed in the Milo Murphy's Law episode "Murphy's Lard", in which the coaster's tracks are revealed to have ended up in Melissa's backyard, crushing her science project and traumatizing her for life.
  • This episode has a Chibi Tiny Tales adaptation.
  • Ferb is actually wrong about the platypus being the only mammal to lay eggs because echidnas are mammals and they lay eggs. Also, only female platypuses lay eggs, a fact the series will repeatedly overlook.

Lawn Gnome Beach Party of Terror[]

  • This is the first episode in which the title refers to the Doofenshmirtz subplot.
  • The lawn gnomes currently sold in the Tri-State Area are basically unchanged from when Heinz Doofenshmirtz was growing up in Gimmelshtump. Since Major Monogram states that the gardens are no longer protected because the lawn gnomes were stolen, this would indicate that this particular lawn gnome design has proven itself quite effective over many years in combating magic. It's possible that they are being imported to Danville from the Gimmelshtump area.
    • The Milo Murphy's Law episode "Disco Do-Over" confirms that while some of these gnomes may be alien trash, some of them also are produced in Drusselstein.
  • Phineas' sandals seem to resemble the ones worn by Django Brown, but unlike the latter, his sandals are blue.
  • This is one of two episodes where Isabella wears a bow that is not close to the color of clothes she is wearing (she wears a red swimsuit, but with a pink bow). The other time is in "Candace Loses Her Head", where she also wears a pink bow with her Fireside Girl uniform.
  • This episode marks the first appearance of Buford, Stacy, Jenny, and Django.
    • It also marks the first appearance (in release order) of the rest of the most-prominent Fireside Girls: Adyson, Gretchen, Milly, and Holly, while Katie and Ginger were already featured in "Rollercoaster".
    • The Fireside Girls' first produced appearance all together was "Candace Loses Her Head".
    • It is also one of the few episodes to mention Buford's last name, during the surfing contest. Here it is pronounced "Von Stom", but it is later changed to Van Stomm.
  • In both production and broadcast order, this is the first episode to reveal Phineas' surname Flynn.
  • Stacy's bikini can be seen again briefly for a short moment in the episode "Phineas and Ferb Get Busted!".
  • This is the first time that Candace didn't try to bust Phineas and Ferb.
  • Doofenshmirtz says that maybe he needs to "turn the cable on first" when trying to get the giant screen to work, just like Mrs. Garcia-Shapiro tells Linda to "turn on the cable box first" in "The Fast and the Phineas".
  • Candace's bikini can be seen again for a short moment in the episode "Flop Starz". She wears it again in "The Mom Attractor".
  • Jeremy doesn't speak in this episode though his voice can be heard offscreen when someone says "Who's protecting our gardens?.
  • This is the first time that Ferb sings.
  • Heinz Doofenshmirtz was still forced to stand in as a lawn gnome even after the family's situation changed. The details are revealed in "Got Game?" and are later seen in "The Chronicles of Meap".
  • This episode corresponds to a lyric in the theme song, "surfing tidal waves".
  • This is the first time that Perry is seen exiting Doofenshmirtz's hideout.
  • This is the first episode in release order in which Doofenshmirtz does not say "Curse you, Perry the Platypus!", and the second episode in production order.
  • This is the first time that Phineas and Ferb deliberately clean up one of their big ideas. However, only the beach sand is cleaned up on purpose; the water is cleaned up when Perry changes the setting of the Destruct-inator to suck.
  • This is the first episode with a song in the end credits that was not featured in the episode.
  • The song from the end credits, "Perry the Platypus", was later extended in "One Good Scare Ought to Do It!".

Flop Starz[]

  • The show's host was later identified as Phil in Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension.
  • Both of the episode's songs have an extended version in future episodes ("Phineas and Ferb Musical Cliptastic Countdown", "Ladies and Gentlemen, Meet Max Modem!").
  • This is the first episode where Phineas sings, as well as Candace.
  • Isabella is first seen with an orange-ish bow and her Fireside Girl uniform on, but no beret. This is exactly like "Candace Loses Her Head", when she wore her regular pink bow with her Fireside Girl uniform without the beret when we first see her. In both situations, she is seen in the rest of the episode with her signature pink dress and pink shoes on her. She later has it this way in "We Call it Maze".
  • By broadcast order, this is the first time the Evil Jingle appears.
  • This is one of few times that Phineas has said 'No' in response to someone asking him if he was too young to be doing whatever he was doing - in this case, it was asking if he was too young to be a pop star.
  • Ferb has no lines in this episode. He does sing "baby, baby, baby, baby" but he is voiced by a different person, being the first time in the series that happens.
  • This is the first time that Candace does not stutter due to the Big Idea's disappearance.
  • First time Candace sees the Big Idea (or part of it) disappear.
  • First episode in which a character other than Isabella, asks "Whatcha Doin'?"
  • I'm Lindana and I Wanna Have Fun has been translated into the following languages: Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, French, Scottish, Canadian, German, Navajo, Japanese, Latin, Greek, Esperanto, Swedish, Russian, Pig Latin, Tagalog, Samoan, Dog, Korean, Taiwanese, Swahili, Bulgarian, Irish, Icelandic, Australian, Aborigine, and Yiddish.
    • For comedic purposes, "Canadian" is listed here even though it's an accent, and such nonsense languages as "Pig Latin" and "Dog" are also included. "Australian" and "Aborigine" are also listed as two separate languages, despite being the same thing.

The Fast and the Phineas[]

  • This is the first time Phineas's name is an episode title. Similarly, this is the first time any character's name is in an episode title. It is also the first time the plot is centered on Phineas.
  • The name of the race (Swamp Oil 500) is a reference to Jeff "Swampy" Marsh, one of the show's creators.

This is the first time Ferb is seen with red hair. The second would be in "License to Bust".

  • In production order, this is the first time the Evil Jingle is heard.
  • Dave and Rick

Dan (right) and Swampy (left) as announcers.

The two announcers are drawn after the show's creators, Jeff "Swampy" Marsh and Dan Povenmire. According to the credits, the announcers are named Dave and Rick, but since their names are not spoken during the episode, it is not possible to determine which is which.
  • The way Isabella says "That helmet looks so manly" sounded almost identical to how Isabella commented the rollercoaster in the Original Pitch.
  • At the beginning when Candace takes a new photo for her blog, she has her cell phone, but when she calls Linda at the racetrack, she uses a payphone, and when she takes a picture of Phineas for proof, she uses the photographer's camera.
    • The chapter book Speed Demons provides info on why Candace didn't have her cell phone with her at the race.
  • After Doofenshmirtz's blimp knocks the T.V. out and prevents Linda from seeing Phineas in the race, Candace says "meap", like Meap and Mitch say without the translator. ("The Chronicles of Meap")
  • In production order, this is the first episode in which Doofenshmirtz doesn't say "Curse you, Perry the Platypus!".
  • Candace trying to show Linda that her car is not there is a reverse of the usual pattern, usually she tries to show that the Big Idea is there but by the time Linda arrives, it's not. In this episode, she tries to prove that nothing's there but right when Linda comes home, it's back. This also happened in "Rollercoaster" and will later happen again in "Phineas and Ferb's Quantum Boogaloo", "Not Phineas and Ferb", and "Rollercoaster: The Musical!".
  • First episode where one of Candace's flawed bust reactions is not shown, the second time is in "Happy New Year!".
  • When the car gets washed and is found in the garage, it appears to have only been washed but Phineas and Ferb also changed the motor and that was not removed.
  • This episode became "The Fast and the Ferbulous: Danville Drift" after Dr. Doofenshmirtz used his Change-inator-inator on it as part of the Spot the Diff marathon.
  • This episode marks the 2nd most times Candace attempts to get Linda to see what the boys are doing by five. It's also the first episode where Candace does not tell Linda what the boys were doing, possibly because she wants to surprise her.
  • First episode where Phineas is oblivious to someone other than Isabella, in this case Linda.
  • This is the first time no one said "Oh, there you are, Perry".

  • At one point, it seems that the "Safari Man 2" display changes to the "Monkey Men 2" display because both appear to the left of the "Space Armada" poster and the flying saucer display. However, it could be possible that the theater had more than one copy of the poster and flying saucer displays, and just happened to put each of them close to the separate "Safari Man 2" and "Monkey Men 2" displays when they got moved into storage. Based on what is in the episode, the "Safari Man 2" display is somewhere to the right of the "Monkey Men 2" display.

  • It's not exactly clear what Candace wants to achieve by busting her brothers in this episode; it is neither dangerous, not over-the-top for boys of their age to invent a successful toy.
    • Then again, Ferb was using quite a few tools that could be considered unsafe when he was making the prototype, including a jackhammer. He even used a welding torch, even though the toy doesn't seem to have enough metal to warrant it.

  • Phineas and Ferb deliberately cleaned up, like they did two times before.
  • This episode has one of Ferb's largest speaking roles. The others are "The Lizard Whisperer", where he speaks for 46 seconds, and "Excaliferb".
  • This episode became "It's a Mud World After All" after Dr. Doofenshmirtz used his Change-inator-inator on it as part of the Spot the Diff marathon.

Mom's Birthday[]

  • Isabella appears in the episode, but she does not speak and only sings. This is the first time she only sings in an episode.
  • Candace can play the bass, banjo, bassoon, bugle, bongos, balalaika, bagpipes, and coincidentally almost every instrument that starts with B.
    • Candace apparently does not play piano or guitar (except the bass one) since she plays multiple instruments that starts with B.
  • This is the first time Candace says, "Oh, there you are, Perry."

Journey to the Center of Candace[]

  • TV Guide UK has this episode listed as "Journey to the Centre of Candace".[3]
  • Third episode with Candace's name ("Lights, Candace, Action!", "Candace Loses Her Head").
  • Candace is allergic to dairy products ("Candace Loses Her Head", "Oh, There You Are, Perry"), but the severity is not specified. If it is a mild allergy, this may explain why grilled cheese sandwiches are her favorite. Grilled cheese sandwiches typically use processed cheese instead of unprocessed cheese, and this difference may allow her to enjoy the sandwiches with little or no reaction.'
  • First episode where Perry shows his affection towards the boys. This is also the first episode where Perry doesn't fight Doofenshmirtz to stop him, simply cuffs him to a pipe after being told the plan.
  • First time in production order and second time in release order ("I Scream, You Scream") where Phineas and Ferb's plan backfires.
  • Second time Candace's ears were seen ("Lights, Candace, Action!").
  • First episode in which Doofenshmirtz directly interacts with/uses one of Phineas and Ferb's inventions.

It's About Time![]

Dude, We're Getting the Band Back Together[]

  • This has come to be one of the most popular episodes of the series.
  • Danny is named after co-creator Dan Povenmire, Swampy is named after co-creator Jeff "Swampy" Marsh, and Bobbi Fabulous is named after writer and voice of Buford, Bobby Gaylor.
  • This is the first episode showing a kiss between two characters.
  • This is the first episode where Phineas says, "Hey, where's Perry?" after "I know what we're gonna do today!".
  • Fourth episode where Major Monogram said "Oh, there you are, Perry" ("Lights, Candace, Action!", "The Magnificent Few", "Toy to the World") and the seventh episode where Perry did not rejoin Phineas and Ferb ("Lights, Candace, Action!", "Candace Loses Her Head", "I, Brobot", "The Magnificent Few", "I Scream, You Scream", "It's a Mud, Mud, Mud, Mud World")
  • When Bobbi Fabulous told Phineas and Ferb to talk to the hand, his hand said, "Secretly, I'm very lonely." This was also said by Norm as he chased Heinz Doofenshmirtz in "Greece Lightning".
  • The pony shown in the picture of Vanessa and Doofenshmirtz is the same one Isabella rode on in "The Magnificent Few".
  • When Candace and her mother are out buying clothes, the song "I'm Lindana and I Wanna Have Fun" can be heard playing over the loudspeaker.
  • Linda and Lawrence's names were mentioned for the first time.
    • Their wedding anniversary is revealed to be on June 15th--coincidentally, their wedding anniversary is also the earliest possible date for Father's Day (in the United States).
  • This episode contains one of the few Big Ideas that both parents find out about.
  • First time that Vanessa shows any love when talking about her father.
  • Second time that Vanessa appears at the Flynn-Fletcher house. ("S'Winter")
  • This is the third episode with a song in the end credits that was not featured in the episode ("Lawn Gnome Beach Party of Terror", "Toy to the World").
  • This episode was named #3 on WatchMojo.com's Top 10 Phineas and Ferb Episodes, though it is erroneously titled "Dude, We're Gettin' the Band Back Together!".[5]
  • In the United States, the full episode was posted on the official Disney XD YouTube channel on July 6, 2019.[6]

Tree to Get Ready[]

  • This is the second episode in release order and the first episode in production order with "Ready" in the title ("Ready for the Bettys").
  • When Candace and Stacy are playing the wrestling game, their character names are "Candyrox" and "Stacilicious", respectively.
  • Phineas and Ferb made quite a few costume changes in this episode.
Phineas's costumes (in order):
  • Army uniform
  • Pirate costume
  • Camouflage uniform
  • Knight's armor
  • Chicken suit
Ferb's costumes (in order):
  • Army hat
  • Sailor hat
  • Camouflage helmet
  • Scottish outfit
  • Chicken suit
  • The cardboard cut-out of a monk Heinz Doofenshmirtz uses shows that its robe is left-side buttoned, which is one of the styles of Vajrayana monks; on the other hand, the Chinese monks often wear robes of right-side buttoning.
  • This is the first time Adyson speaks, when the Fireside Girls are cheering, she says "Way to go!".
  • Doof is the first person other than Phineas to wonder where Perry is.

The Ballad of Badbeard[]

  • This is the second episode that Linda does not appear in. ("Are You My Mummy?")
  • This marks the second appearance of the boys' maternal grandparents, Betty Jo and Clyde Flynn. ("Get That Bigfoot Outa My Face!")
  • This episode shows that Buford and Ferb can play concertina very well.
  • This episode marks the first time Candace sees Perry wearing his hat. It is also the first episode that someone not from the O.W.C.A agency or L.O.V.E. M.U.F.F.I.N. knows that Perry is a secret agent. (She attributes it to the hallucinations.)
  • This is the first time Ferb uses his regular voice (provided by Thomas Sangster) to sing and not a different one, (usually provided by Danny Jacob) while all of the other songs he sang used Jacob's voice. (Note that Ferb singing in The Ballad of Badbeard is not so much singing as rhythmic talking.)
  • Katie is the only Fireside Girl who does not appear.

Greece Lightning[]

Leave the Busting to Us![]

Crack That Whip[]

  • First appearance for Clyde and Betty Jo since "Get That Bigfoot Outa My Face!" and "The Ballad of Badbeard".
  • First time no one said "Hey, where's Perry?".
  • Phineas and Ferb's friends didn't appear in the episode.
  • Betty Jo's eyes are seen for the first time.
  • This episode marks the first appearance of Suzy in release order, and the second time in production order ("One Good Scare Ought to Do It!").
  • One of the rare occurrences where Doofenshmirtz calls his adversary "Perry" instead of "Perry the Platypus".
  • Technically, Hildegard should've won the roller derby rematch. Her arms are stretched further than Betty Jo's hand.

The Best Lazy Day Ever[]

  • This is the first episode in which Phineas and Ferb do not have a "Big Idea".
  • What would later become the music for the Platypus Walk is heard at a faster pace in this episode twice, later heard again in Season 2's "She's the Mayor".
  • OLO-COOL 345

    Looks like it's 2008.

When Candace shows the boys the time-traveling machine, it said 20,000 BC, 2008, and 98,000 AD. This most likely means this episode takes place in 2008 (at the earliest) if that was when they made the time-traveling submarine page.
    • "Candace Loses Her Head" at the start of the series also had a calendar with Candace's birthday corresponding to the days of July in 2008 while "Last Day of Summer" at the end of the series had a calendar corresponding to the days of August in 2011 (assuming Phineas and Ferb isn't restricted to a single summer).
  • In this episode, Candace does a nearly impossible plan, which is undoubtedly out of her real character. This makes the line "driving our sister insane" from the title sequence a real part of this episode.
  • When Perry is hit by the Slow-Motion-inator, his theme song can be heard in a slowed rhythm.
  • First appearances: Coltrane and unnamed Jeremy and the Incidentals' drummer.
  • The episode's title is mentioned by Phineas when he says "It was the best lazy day ever."
  • This was the last program to air on Disney Channel Brazil, as the channel ended its broadcasts after this episode.

Boyfriend From 27,000 B.C.[]

Voyage to the Bottom of Buford[]

  • This is the second time Phineas and Ferb build a submarine ("Journey to the Center of Candace").
  • There are two fourth wall breakings in this episode. Ferb breaks it first by saying "Yes, it usually takes us at least a montage" in reply to Phineas noting how quickly their submarine was built. The second is when Doof is telling Perry about his Media Erasinator where he looks at the camera and says "Patent pending, Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated."
  • Someone is reading a newspaper at the newsstand where all the magazines and newspapers are deleted. If one looks closely, the newspaper can be read as "Evil Brother vows to get even" with a quote that says "I'm very jealous!" and "Mom loved him best" with a picture of Doofenshmirtz, who is presumably being quoted. The other legible writing says "pigeon missing", which is likely a reference to the pigeon ploy ("Tree to Get Ready").
  • One of few times Perry does not go back to Phineas and Ferb by episode's end.

A Hard Day's Knight[]

  • This is one of few episodes which don't feature any of Phineas and Ferb's friends (Isabella, Baljeet and Buford).
  • This is the first episode to not take place in Danville.
  • Although Linda appears in this episode, she does not speak.
  • This episode features the first appearance of Lawrence's parents.
  • The taxi Linda and Lawrence take is a LTI TX1.
  • This is the only time Candace shows having romantic interest in a boy that isn't Jeremy, though Charles is very similar to Jeremy.
  • Perry's fake ID of Dr. Wexler says "Note: NOT A PLATYPUS".
  • One of the "Hounds of Heck" looks like the Johnson family poodle.

Traffic Cam Caper[]

  • This is the first episode to take place at night.
  • It's revealed that Linda doesn't believe Phineas and Ferb of their adventures, as she considers their trip to the Moon and bringing actual moon rocks as their 'imagination', much to Candace's distraught.
  • This is the first time in release order and the second time in production order ( "Does This Duckbill Make Me Look Fat?") that Doofenshmirtz is shown to keep his failed inventions.
  • This is the third episode in production order ("Get That Bigfoot Outa My Face!", "Put That Putter Away") and second episode in release order ("Get That Bigfoot Outa My Face!") in which Perry doesn't battle Doofenshmirtz.
  • This is the first episode Major Monogram sings in.
  • This is the first time Phineas and Candace hug each other.
  • When Candace says "gotcha!", the audio was taken from "The Fast and the Phineas".
  • This episode was named #10 on WatchMojo.com's Top 10 Phineas and Ferb episodes.[8]

Bowl-R-Ama Drama[]

  • Baljeet says that the world's largest bowling ball has a diameter of 4 feet, which means that the volume is feet cubed, and the surface area is feet squared.
  • This is one of the few episodes where Phineas becomes competitive.
  • First time Candace thinks she should bring the Big Idea to Mom.
  • Perry passes Schnell Foto on his way from the Doofenshmirtz Abandoned Self Storage, which was shown in ("It's About Time!").
  • Doofenshmirtz Abandoned Self Storage appears for the first time since "Dude, We're Getting the Band Back Together".
  • Cletus had made an appearance in "Toy to the World".
  • Linda is worried about Candace not calling again. ("Lawn Gnome Beach Party of Terror", "Tree to Get Ready")
  • The map of Underground Danville bears a resemblance to a pinball machine.
  • Second time Candace is caught in the middle of a fight between Doof and Perry, and unwittingly helps Perry defeat Doofenshmirtz ("The Ballad of Badbeard").
  • Perry uses Phineas and Ferb's Big Ideas again to defeat Doofenshmirtz.
  • Shady Joe mentions that Doofenshmirtz (the "Penguin Man") is a unique and logic-defying amalgam of a man and a penguin. This is also said in S'Winter by Ferb in a similar manner: "It's a unique and logic-defying amalgam of winter and summer."

Got Game?[]

  • Second episode title to have a question mark ("Are You My Mummy?")
  • This is the one of the first episodes (also briefly shown in "Raging Bully," though that may have been Isabella being protective of Phineas) to show a rivalry between Buford and Isabella.
  • This is currently the only episode to never show Candace's original hair. Whenever Candace was shown on screen, her hair would be either messy, covered with a hat or a helmet or the beautiful hair at the last part of the episode.
  • Second time Candace wears a football helmet. ("I, Brobot")
  • This episode is the first episode in release order and the second episode in production order ("Out to Launch") to show the friendship between Candace and Isabella.
  • This episode marks the first instance where Perry makes a noise other than his traditional chattering sound: the weary noise when he realizes he will have to walk back up the huge staircase.
  • This is one of the few times to show Candace and Isabella's ears. Candace's ears were also visible for a second in "Journey to the Center of Candace" and "Lights, Candace, Action!". Isabella's ears are also later seen in "That Sinking Feeling".
  • Ferb says "That was completely out of character," much like Phineas did in "Leave the Busting to Us!".
  • This episode aired on Disney Channel six days before the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
  • The game "Poke the Goozim with a Stick" is later used by Doofenshmirtz-2.

Comet Kermillian[]

  • This is the second time Candace wears a white T-shirt with blue bootcut jeans and a white belt with a gold buckle. ("One Good Scare Ought to Do It!")
  • This is one of the episodes where Isabella accidentally tells Phineas her feelings about him. ("You had me at our grandchildren.")
  • One of the observers during "S.I.M.P. (Squirrels In My Pants) was working registration at EvilCon in "A Hard Day's Knight". He shows up frequently in various crowds including, but not limited to: "Gitchee Gitchee Goo" (first performance and extended version only - the latter time in the crowd that snaps out of Doofenshmirtz's hypnotic "My Name is Doof"), "Gimme a Grade", "Do Nothing Day" and "Not So Bad A Dad".
  • It is revealed that Candace is 15 years old, as the comet can be seen every 73 1/2 years, and Ferb tells her that she will bust them when she is 88 1/2 years old.

Put That Putter Away[]

  • This episode aired 2 days after the opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympic Games.
  • First episode focused on Stacy.
  • First episode to see Candace wear pajamas for the entire time.
  • The same dragon that was used in the miniature golf course is built by Candace in "The Best Lazy Day Ever", though a different color, and with a water slide as its tongue.

  • The Fireside Girls are again only featured during the episode's song ("The Ballad of the Badbeard").
  • A Giant Floating Baby Head similar to the one in some episodes makes an appearance.

Does This Duckbill Make Me Look Fat?[]

  • Third episode title with a question mark ("Are You My Mummy?", "Got Game?")
  • The "I know what we're gonna do today!" line is for the first time said by someone else, by the mad scientist on the TV.
  • This is the first time that a character turned into a platypus.
  • First time Candace spends most of the episode after being changed by an invention in the series.
  • The scene at the stop light is like the one in "Flop Starz".
  • This is one of the episodes where Doofenshmirtz uses a different language saying, "Wait, wait, I can't fight you when you're dressed as a girl! It's so, ¿cómo se dice?... awkward..."
    • "¿Cómo se dice?" translates to "How's it stated?" or "How is it said?" in Spanish.
  • This is the first time in production order and the second time in release order ( "Does This Duckbill Make Me Look Fat?") that Doofenshmirtz is shown to keep his failed inventions.
  • This episode revealed that during Candace's fifth grade graduation, Linda embarrasses her with an unknown inflatable item, which she has forgotten and forgot again when she showed Jeremy Candace's baby videos.
  • This is the second time Candace inadvertantly points out what the boys did after the disappearance which makes Linda love it, after "The Fast and the Phineas".
  • Candace doesn't say anything after the invention's disappearance ("The Fast and the Phineas", "I, Brobot", "Run Away Runway", "S'Winter", "I Scream, You Scream", "Comet Kermillian"). She also doesn't stutter again.
  • This is the second time Linda tells Candace to close her mouth. ("The Fast and the Phineas")
  • This is the fourth episode with a song in the end credits that wasn't featured in the episode ("Lawn Gnome Beach Party of Terror", "Toy to the World", "Dude, We're Getting the Band Back Together").
  • This episode and "Put That Putter Away" were voted # 1 by viewers for the Top 10 episodes in the "Fan Picked Phineas and Ferb Week" that aired on the Disney Channel during the week of the premiere of Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension.
  • One of the numbers on the bottom of the camera's screen from early in the episode read "141," which is this episode's in-house production code (631D-141).[9]
  • This episode was uploaded to Disney Channel Animation on YouTube on August 6, 2025 to promote the release of Freakier Friday (a sequel to the 2003 film adaptation), which releases two days after.

The Flying Fishmonger[]

One Good Scare Ought to Do It![]

  • For the first time, Lawrence Fletcher does not appear in a half-hour length episode.
  • This is the first time Candace calls Linda by name instead of "Mom" or "Mother".
  • Linda confirms that this episode takes place in the afternoon.
  • Isabella hiccups exactly 11 times in the episode, while Candace hiccups twice.

  • This episode reveals that Dr. Doofenshmirtz doesn't play golf despite owning golf clubs.
  • The Giant floating baby head makes several appearances in the course of the series. In production order, this is the first appearance of the Giant Floating Baby Head and the first instance where the main characters interact with it.
  • This is the first episode where the thing that Phineas and Ferb built reappears, but disappears again.
  • This is one of the times where Candace busts herself.
  • In the song "One Good Scare", Phineas holds Isabella's hand almost the entire time.
  • The song "Perry the Platypus" is extended.
GingerLookAtBaljeet

Is Ginger smiling at her crush?

  • When Buford, Baljeet, and the Fireside Girls show up, Ginger appears to be looking at Baljeet. This could be foreshadowing her crush on Baljeet, which would be more obvious in "Isabella and the Temple of Sap" and several episodes later.
  • When Candace leaves the haunted house using the elevator, a much lighter, upbeat version of "One Good Scare" can be heard.
AgentPHalloween2
PnFMickeysHalloween

Recognize the background?

  • For Mickey's Halloween Party at Disneyland in October 2011, or Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom in 2012, the background of the haunted house from this episode was used for photo ops with the Phineas, Ferb, and Agent P costumed characters.
  • This episode was voted #9 by viewers for the Top 10 episodes in the "Fan Picked Phineas and Ferb Week" that aired on Disney Channel during the week of the premiere of Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension.
  • "(Yo) No hablo español" means "I don't speak Spanish".
  • Django Brown makes a cameo in this episode.

The Monster of Phineas-n-Ferbenstein[]

Oil on Candace[]

Out of Toon[]

  • The aliens in the Captain Implausible cartoon are speaking some of the nonsense lyrics from Gitchee Gitchee Goo ("Bow chicka bow wow", "chicka chicka choo wop") ("Flop Starz").
  • The song played while Phineas talks about the creation of the cartoon is later heard in "Gaming the System".
  • The fish shown writing the episode's story looks similar to Buford's goldfish, Biff ("Voyage to the Bottom of Buford").
  • First episode where Isabella expresses annoyance when anyone (except for Phineas) imitates her catchphrase.
  • Second time Isabella is interested in horses ("The Magnificent Few").
  • Doofenshmirtz breaks the fourth wall in this episode, when he tells the audience that "to add insult to injury, the platypus (Perry) is leading" a dance.
  • Part of the Team Improbable theme is the same background music as Phineas and the gang start going after Candace in "Bowl-R-Ama Drama".
  • Second time Candace is being recognized as a show character ("Lights, Candace, Action!").
  • If you count Candace as Control Freak growing to 50 feet tall, this is technically the first time Candace changes size in the series. ("Attack of the 50 Foot Sister")
  • Pedro, one of the shows well known extras, has his first speaking role in this episode since the pilot.
  • The "Groucho glasses" appear again, this time in giant form ("Flop Starz").

Hail Doofania![]

  • This is the first episode to open at Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated.
  • First time the Evil Jingle is used as the opening music.
  • This is the first episode where the title refers solely to the Doofenshmirtz plot rather than the Phineas and Ferb plot, as "Lawn Gnome Beach Party of Terror" alludes to both.
  • Roger Doofenshmirtz becomes the mayor of Danville.
  • This is one of the few episodes that Candace is with Linda the whole time.
  • Second episode where Candace and Vanessa interact ("S'Winter").
  • This is the first time Doofenshmirtz had actually succeeded in defeating Perry (by shoving him off the roof into the sandpaper factory, and creating his own land, though the latter didn't seem to last for long).
  • The "Whatcha Doin'?" line is said 4 times, once by Norm, once by Doofenshmirtz, and twice by Isabella, one being "Whatcha Eatin'?", which she also said in "Chez Platypus".
  • First episode in which Candace doesn't see the boys' invention.
  • Despite many clues, this is the first episode to directly say that Heinz and Charlene Doofenshmirtz are divorced. During the credits, Heinz calls Charlene his "ex-wife".
  • First time Isabella destroys an invention Dr. Doofenshmirtz makes, via a fisherman being distracted from the rainbow.
  • This is the third time a character other than Isabella had said 'What'cha Doin'?'. ("I Scream, You Scream", "Out of Toon")
  • The policeman from "Does This Duckbill Make Me Look Fat?" reappears as the meter monitor officer.
  • During her massage, Charlene is helped by the same woman who was pulling Linda out of her mudpool in "Lawn Gnome Beach Party of Terror".
  • Ferb says "You know, in retrospect, I question the inclusion of a self-destruct button." This is close to what Jekyll Doofenshmirtz said: "You know, I question the inclusion of a fairy princess dial, but you know, live and learn." ("The Monster of Phineas-n-Ferbenstein") Dr. Doofenshmirtz has also used the phrase "you know, in hindsight" a lot.
  • Mindy makes another cameo from the past episode "Jerk De Soleil".
  • Second time someone says "Well, actually I ––" when they are accused of doing something by someone else. The first time was Ferb in "Ready for the Bettys".
  • Candace doesn't try to bust her brothers again. (The previous ones were "Lawn Gnome Beach Party of Terror", "Lights, Candace, Action!", "Are You My Mummy?", "Ready for the Bettys", "Get That Bigfoot Outa My Face!", "It's a Mud, Mud, Mud, Mud World", "Mom's Birthday", "Dude, We're Getting the Band Back Together", "Tree to Get Ready", "The Ballad of Badbeard", "Boyfriend From 27,000 B.C.", and "A Hard Day's Knight").
  • This is the second episode Phineas says -inator, the first being in "I Scream, You Scream".
  • This is the second and final time Vanessa tries to bust her dad ("I Scream, You Scream").
  • Stacy does not appear onscreen in this episode, though she has a line on the phone.
  • In production order, this is the last episode of Season 1.
  • This is the second time Doofenshmirtz says "Oh, there you are, Perry" ("Oil on Candace").
  • First episode to be titled after the Doofenshmirtz plot, as all other episode titles before were focused on the Phineas and Ferb plot.
  • This is the first time Perry sighs.
  • The Doofenshmirtz plot uses many of Phineas' plot catchphrases and vice-versa.
  • It's unclear what exactly Vanessa is trying to prove in this episode, or why Doofenshmirtz anticipated that Perry would try to stop him. It's hardly evil or illegal to build artificial floating islands.
  • When Isabella looks at the Fruity Rainbow Flakes cereal box, she does not claim what she has never saw in real life. Phineas looks at the rainbow on the cereal box and asks Isabella if she has never seen it, and she says she would love to, but does not confirm it's the rainbow. This is a clue toward the fact Isabella never actually saw a unicorn.
  • Norm's line about "Cake Day" being on a Friday is a likely reference to a former practice at Disney TV Animation to celebrate a Cake Day on the last Friday of every month to give out work anniversary gifts, as revealed by Dan Povenmire.[10]

Out to Launch[]

Phineas and Ferb Get Busted![]

  • This was the first episode to first premiere on Disney XD before Disney Channel.
  • Isabella and Buford are absent in this episode. Technically though, the only characters to appear in real life are Perry and Phineas. It is also the first full length episode without Isabella.
  • Perry appears three times in this episode.
    • Perry would later make a cameo appearance in "Isabella and the Temple of Sap", where Pinky has his own subplot. Major Monogram and Dr. Doofenshmirtz would then be absent in that same episode.
  • So far, this episode is the only one (next to "Phineas and Ferb's Quantum Boogaloo", "She's the Mayor", "A Real Boy", and "Backyard Hodge Podge") where Phineas and Ferb get "busted" by their mom.
  • When Stacy is in the speedboat, her bikini from "Lawn Gnome Beach Party of Terror" can briefly be seen.
  • This was the first episode that shows how Phineas, Ferb, and Candace met. However, as a dream sequence, it cannot be considered official.
  • This is the biggest role for Jeremy until "Nerdy Dancin'".
  • Dr. Doofenshmirtz and Major Monogram only make cameos in this episode, with only one line each.
  • This is the first episode to not contain an Agent P subplot, or anything that primarily involves OWCA for that matter. This would not happen again until "Ferb TV".
    • However, Perry and Dr. Doofenshmirtz show up on a giant robot near the end of the episode, implying that an Agent P sub-plot was happening while Candace was trying to save Phineas and Ferb, yet the audience does not see anything besides the fight on the robot.
  • The Talking Zebra from "The Ballad of Badbeard" returns in this episode, which actually is Candace's dream.
  • In some parts of the world, the scene where the Drill Sergeant falls from the cliff was cut.
  • This episode was named #6 on WatchMojo.com's Top 10 Phineas and Ferb Episodes.[11]
  • The title of this episode is parodied as "Candace Gets Busted" in the last Season 2 episode.
  • Despite this episode mostly taking place in dreams, it may take place after "Cheer Up Candace", since Baljeet's puppet originated from that episode.

Unfair Science Fair[]

  • Though Isabella appears here, she does not in the next episode.
  • First time Baljeet appears without Buford. This happens again in the succeeding episode.
  • First time Perry is trapped in something baby-related.
  • This episode shows Heinz Doofenshmirtz's first inator and explains why he has the name inator in almost all of his inventions.
  • When Perry escapes some of his fur comes off revealing that he wears green boxer shorts with purple polka dots on them. This is the first time we see Perry in his underwear; the next is in "Perry Lays an Egg".
  • Perry is the fourth character to be shown in underwear, the other characters being Dr. Doofenshmirtz, Phineas, and Ferb.

Unfair Science Fair Redux (Another Story)[]

  • This is the second time Baljeet appears without Buford, the first being in the proceeding episode.
  • This is the second episode where Phineas and Ferb characters have gone to space. ("Rollercoaster")
    • This is the second time Phineas and Ferb have gone to space. ("Rollercoaster")
    • This is the first time Candace went to space.
  • This marks the first time Candace says, "Candace Flynn is out! PEACE!"
    • She also says "Queen Candace is out! PEACE!"
  • This is the sixth episode in which Perry doesn't battle Doofenshmirtz ("Get That Bigfoot Outa My Face!", "Traffic Cam Caper", "Put That Putter Away", "The Monster of Phineas-n-Ferbenstein", "Oil on Candace").
  • When the Martians crown Candace, they shout "Yarooh," which is "Horray" spelled backwards. When the Martians ask her to break another rover, they shout "Yensid" which is "Disney" spelled backwards. The Martians also say "Erimnevop" which is Povenmire spelled backwards. When Ferb speaks Martian, "Meht tuohtiw ton tub enif yas yeht" He is just saying his line, "They say fine but not without them" spelled backwards.
  • This is the third time someone becomes a queen ("Lawn Gnome Beach Party Of Terror", "Put That Putter Away").
  • This is the second episode where Major Monogram appears, but has no lines. The first time he didn't speak is during "It's About Time!".
  • This is the first time that the instrumental of the Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated jingle is heard.
