"Well, there's survival and then there's living. Let us give ya a quick tour. We've got everything we need to make our maritime mishap as enjoyable as possible." — Phineas[src] |
The Tree Shelter is a treehouse built by Phineas and Ferb as a provisional shelter during their unforeseen stay at a secluded island.
History[]
The boys and Isabella are playing pretend as crew members of a boat obtained by Linda and Lawrence for a sea tour. Following its placement in the water, the kids are joined by the adults, who continue a conversation on compartment nomenclature. Anguished, Candace hurries her family as to not miss Jeremy's sunset party, though she is forced to be patient. With everyone ready, the voyage begins smoothly, but the peace is cut short by a storm, a whirlpool of which roughs the ride.
Once the climate is clear, the family finds themselves stranded on an island. Lawrence instructs the kids to search for shelter and food, in the meantime of his and Linda's fixing of the ship. Inside the forest, the gang encounters an adequate spot to construct a housing space, quickly progressing with the project. Meanwhile, Candace reluctantly hunts for supplies, picking a handful of coconuts along a path, in which she comes across a troop of monkeys that flings her into a hut, part of Phineas and Ferb's natural refuge.
Irritated, Candace complains about the unnecessary complexity of her brothers' structure, an attribute clarified to be in case of permanent marooning. Focused on her commitments, the teenager berates the kids for not arranging a way home, even if against the parents' orders. Stress overwhelms the big sister, causing her to ditch her compromise in favor of busting her siblings. Suddenly, a nearby volcano erupts, forcing everybody to rush onto the now-stable boat, whilst the jungle shelter is destroyed by the pink lava ("Swiss Family Phineas").
Design[]
The Tree Shelter is a treehouse established on an isolated green spot surrounded by a small lake, connecting to the mainland via a wooden bridge. Put together around six inclined palm trees, it comprises a center room and twelve huts, all designed using wood and straw covers. Attaining a nature motif, the exterior is linked together by lumber ladders and passageways, confering it the appearance of a residential complex. Each area utilizes a different color base, ranging from green to orange shades. Plants and tiki-themed decorations are spread out both in and out of the shacks.
The interior contains a living room with a skin sofa, an orange twig desk, a brown carpet, a yellow counter, two green pillar stools, and a pineapple-patterned curtain; a family room with a blue and purple-sheeted bunk bed, a green ladder, a violet hammock, a dark yellow chair, a drink bench, a black round fireplace, and a ceiling ornament; a kitchen with light brown appliances and cabinets, a dark yellow straw bowl, dark brown dispenser barrels, and frying pans; and a bathroom with a turtle shell sink, a gray bathtub, a dark gray shower, a light gray and yellow PF towel, and a red totem hygiene item holder.
Activities[]
The Tree Shelter is a temporary home properly stocked for long-time survival. Furnishing includes a relaxing living room for regular pastimes, a cozy bedroom doubling as a collective hangout spot, a kitchen serving as a directly-sourced banana smoothie and coconut water preparation hub, and a bathroom complete with indoor plumbing to fulfill sanitary necessities. In addition to the normal entry and exit path, an emergency coconut slide opening is implemented to permit quick getaways.
Background Information[]
- For the construction, the kids map out the planned product in a sand square, carry leaves, chop up wood, reach higher points via a stone seesaw, and place miscellaneous materials with the assistance of boars, a pelican, a snake, and a crab. Building hats are replaced by turtle shells.
- Prior to her launch into the shelter, Candace is kissed by one of the monkeys, which she describes as having transmitted primate cooties to her.
- Starting the house tour, Phineas refers to their situation as a "maritime mishap", an alliterative wordplay.
- Ferb is shown giving a monkey a shower, corresponding to the gag in the theme song.
- One of the tiki statues featured in the house is a green giant Ferb holding a pineapple.
- Candace's suggestions for inventions to return to town are a bridge, a coconut-powered hovercraft, and a gigantic slingshot. The latter is noted by the boys, who end up utilizing it in another adventure.
- Despite her shaken mood, Candace indirectly admits her liking of the kids' creation, describing it as a "tropical dream house".
- Originally, the emergency exit had been conceived as a slide into a hot tub, but it is changed to a simple coconut tree descent likely due to a delay in the arrival of necessary parts.
- In the end, the family is able to get home because of the pink lava current pushing the boat into the sea.
- The Tree Shelter was referenced in the campground map of the Summer Vacation Summerizer, wherein one of the special constructions took its name, albeit using items reminiscent of the Tree House Robots.
