"Are you a boy, doing nothing with your stepbrother today? Do you like high adventure? Then we have the product for you! It's the Amazing Man-Eating-Dinosaur-Themed Totally Sick Waterslide of Doom!" — Commercial[src] |
The Amazing Man-Eating-Dinosaur-Themed Totally Sick Waterslide of Doom is a water slide put together by Candace as a last resort to get a resting Phineas and Ferb tied up in a bustworthy endeavor.
History[]
Phineas and Ferb wake up at the tick of their alarm clock, determined to construct an incredible backyard railroad. Running outside, the duo halts their rapid fire setup to appreciate nature's calmness, a feeling that convinces the boys' energetic minds to relax for a change. Meanwhile, Candace is conversing on the phone with Stacy about Jeremy's concert, when she observes her stale siblings. Fearing a dangerous activity, she sets out to investigate their behavior after Linda leaves for the festival.
Speaking to Phineas and Ferb, Candace makes her intentions of having a great day swooning her love interest clear, in hopes of the brothers keeping a low profile for the time being. They go on to explain the empty schedule to their sister, who is dumbfounded at the lack of a creative plan. Once the two lay in the grass, she goes inside the house to maintain surveillance, dialing her mother in a laziness report. Listening to her, the parent suggests the adoption of a similar mindset, to the teenager's existential angst.
Attempting to incite her siblings, Candace presents blueprints for some future projects of theirs, which they decline to do. Frustrated, she turns to watch television, learning of a cool children's slide toy in a commercial. She immediately orders it, and gets down on building it suggestively, only to be consistently ignored by Phineas and Ferb. While she is invested, Stacy comes over to alert her of the starting show, just as a balloon passes near the product, picking it up along with the girls onto the stage, where it is dropped ("The Best Lazy Day Ever").
Design[]
The Totally Sick Waterslide of Doom is a sliding structure with an orange dinosaur-shaped metal body, red back spike parts, two flexible arm divisions, twelve tan claw pieces, a salmon belly chunk, two white teeth slices, two triangular green eye markings, two black pupil dots, two black nose cavities, and a pink slide.
Mechanics[]
The Totally Sick Waterslide of Doom is a recreational plaything engineered to entertain kids. Based on the popular figure of an ancient reptile, it can be assembled through an intuitive joining of the lower and upper sections. Users are able to ride it by presumably climbing on the back, linked internally to a five-curve decline.
Background Information[]
- This is the first summer idea not to be built or organized by Phineas and Ferb.
- The concept for the fastest, safest, most on-time backyard railroad involved Phineas manning the boiler, Ferb handling the brakes, and Perry as the station's mascot.
- From her room, Candace perceives the boys' inactivity at 9:00 am, wondering specifically about the lack of noise and delivery trucks.
- At first, Candace imagines Phineas and Ferb planting decoys in order to divert their whereabouts, driving her to act on the thought to learn the truth.
- When the duo tells their sister of the do-nothing day, she states that standing is still a movement. To that, they slowly fall on the ground.
- Trying to loosen up, Candace cannot think of a pastime away from her busting urge, which leads to the conclusion that she is inherently dependant on her brothers' actions.
- The blueprints shown to the resting Phineas and Ferb are for a Redux Precipitator and a Time-Traveling Submarine, the latter taken from the Phineas and Ferb Project Journal.
- Eyeing the plans, Phineas reminds Candace about the inbox, a place serving as storage for invention requests.
- According to the commercial, the water slide can be delivered in minutes, and assembled by a five-year-old.
- Candace's instigation scheme is to build the toy as indiscreetly as possible, thereby forcing the boys to undertake the project themselves, though all it winds up accomplishing is being a slacking bother.
- For the construction, Candace carries a few boxes, hammers a wooden nail, drills a steel bar, pours cement from a truck, and positions the main parts using a crane.
- During the jackhammer finishing touches, Candace's phone rings in the same rhythm as the tool, causing her to miss Stacy's call.
- In a loudly declaration of fun, Candace compares the relation between enjoyment and boredom with a rash and cortisol, alluding to the process of hormonal immune response against inflammations.
