"Being a hero isn't the armor you wear. But the metal in your spirit and the steel in your resolve."
— Thor[src]

Thor Odinson is a superhero who works with the Avengers. The god of thunder from Asgard whose enchanted hammer allows him to fly and manipulate weather, he gets his powers drained by Doofenshmirtz and has to rely on Phineas and Ferb to get them back to save the Tri-State Area.

Biography[]

Background[]

Thor is the son of Odin, who incarnates his son as a mortal on Earth to punish him for his thirst for battle. Under the name of Dr. Donald Blake, he discovers that he is the god of thunder and is reunited with Mjolnir. Awakening to his powers, he defeats an alien party that is invading Earth and decides to split his time between his human life and his godhood in Asgard, using his powers to protect humanity and his home.

"Mission Marvel"[]

In New York City, he, along with Iron Man and the Hulk, fights a group of villains consisting of Whiplash, Venom, M.O.D.O.K., and Red Skull. Spider-Man arrives soon after, to Iron Man's surprise. Seeing the enemies' weapon, Stark takes an opportunity and shoots the machine from the side, and Thor follows by throwing Mjolnir at it. The villains are then defeated, but the heroes are suddenly zapped, scaring their rivals into leaving. Confused, they try to follow them, only to find out that they have lost their powers. They decide to go back to S.H.I.E.L.D. to figure out the problem, for which Thor has to leave the enchantless Mjolnir behind due to it becoming too heavy.

At the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier, the source of the beam they were zapped by is confirmed by Nick Fury to be Danville, passing by a station satellite owned by Phineas and Ferb. With this information, the heroes go to the two kids' house in hopes of getting their powers back. There, they find out that the two brothers are not responsible for what happened. Over juice boxes, the heroes and the kids begin discussing a way to restore the powers. Candace walks in on the conversation, and is bewildered to meet her idols.

In the backyard, Phineas and Ferb unveil the base of operations for the mission, the S.H.E.D. Upon entering it, the heroes are surprised to discover that the inside is bigger than the outside. Thor points out a suit similar to that of Iron Man, jokingly stating that the brothers had stolen from Stark. A while later, the boys complete a machine to temporarily replicate the powers. Candace activates it before Ferb is finished with its setup, causing the heroes' abilities to be switched between them.

Having Spider-Man's powers, Thor crawls up the walls of the S.H.E.D. to test his new abilities. The god of thunder explains to Iron Man, who got his powers, that Stark cannot wield Mjolnir since he is not worthy, to the genius' dismay. Despite the confusion, the heroes leave for the mall, where the villains are terrorizing. Even with the boys' help, they are beaten by their rivals, who capture them. Unexpectedly, a masked vigilante arrives and saves the heroes.

Regrouping at the S.H.E.D., they discover that their switched powers are running out. Fortunately, Baljeet, Buford, and Candace have been rebuilding the machine. Candace plugs it before it is done, making it zap Baljeet, turning him into Hulkjeet. Following her ban from the hideout, Phineas and Ferb work on repairing the Beak suit. Red Skull makes a public announcement threatening to drain the energy of the Tri-State Area if the heroes do not show up, forcing them to fight with no powers.

In downtown Danville, the heroes arrive by bus and are quickly beaten. Thor is wrapped by Venom alongside Hulk, while Iron Man is thrown up to be caught by Hulkjeet. As Phineas and Ferb in the Beak suit and the masked platypus join the battle, waffles start to rain from above, causing the villains to release the trapped heroes. Spider-Man takes the reactor core that powered the enemies' weapon, ensuing a fight. The core is guarded by the heroes, who resist the villains throughout a park whilst using its and nearby people's equipment.

The villains gather the core's parts, but the boys' falling space station smashes the weapon before it can fire. Candace and Isabella come out of the satellite and hand the tank collector to Phineas and Ferb, who release the powers that were stored in it. Back to normal, the heroes fight the villains one more time, detaining them. Afterwards, Thor and the others give their goodbyes to the gang. The god of thunder waves his hammer to Buford, who had helped in the battle as "Bear Boy" with a fish weapon inspired by Mjolnir, and flies away on the Quinjet with his companions.

Physical appearance[]

Thor is light-skinned and has blond hair and blue eyes. He wears a black body armor with six grey adornments, purple sides, and dark yellow details; a light brown waistband, grey arm protectors, purple wristbands, light brown boots with brown and purple details, a red cape, and a grey horned helmet.

Personality[]

He is noble and formal. He stands firm on his ideals and shows appreciation towards the kids' aid to him and his companions, waving his hammer as a sign of respect. Familiarizing himself with Earth, he frequently finds himself being more polite than necessary, leading him to seem oblivious to human customs and other people's remarks.

Relationships[]

The Avengers[]

Thor has positive relationships with his fellow heroes. He is often paired with the Hulk, whose strength is combined with his for a bigger advantage in combat. In battle, their teamwork shines through, with their attacks complementing each other.

Villains[]

Much like his teammates, Thor's priority lies in stopping the villains' plans. He demonstrates willingness to step up even without his hammer, despite the recklessness of the act.

Kids[]

Thor has great respect for the kids and the help they provide. As a showing of gratitude for what they did, he dedicates the final battle for them, putting on a spectacle with his lightning abilities and waving his hammer to both Candace and Buford.

Perry[]

Thor and his companions are saved by Perry, whom they think is a masked duck. Because of the platypus' earlier help, they agree to have him join in the final battle.

Background Information[]

  • Thor is the second character in Phineas and Ferb with the name "Thor", the first being Thaddeus' brother.
  • After Thor loses his powers, Mjolnir is left on a place where cars aren't allowed to park. Because of this, the weapon is treated as a vehicle and given a ticket. When it is retrieved before the final battle, it is covered in tickets and clamped with a parking boot.
  • Candace has written a fan-fiction in which Thor and Hulk learn ice skating. This is likely a parody of fan works where two characters are paired, in this case referencing the relationship between the two strong heroes.
  • When Thor gets Spider-Man's powers, he exclaims "by Odin's beard" in surprise. This is an Asgardian version of the interjection "by God", replacing God with Odin, the father of Thor.
  • Responding to Iron Man's second complaint about Thor's powers being dependant on the hammer, the god of thunder says that talking to Stark is like conversing with a Bilgesnipe, a primitive animal species from Asgard.
  • In addition to spider abilities, Thor states that he also inherited Spider-Man's tendency for puns, commenting that he is in a sticky situation, a word play on "sticky".
  • In the initial brawl at the park, Thor uses a nearby kid's skateboard to keep up with Iron Man and Spider-Man, who are driving a golf cart.
  • During the final fight, Thor lifts his hammer to generate lightning, which raises Candace and Isabella's hair due to the effect of static electricity.
  • Thor is voiced by Travis Willingham, reprising his role from Avengers Assemble. Willingham's guest appearance was revealed on June 28, 2013, along with the announcement of the special's premiere date.[1]
  • In a special video for Animation Magazine, Willingham says that Thor would enjoy Danville, and possibly use some of his Asgardian magic to enlarge it.[2]
