“ | A big contraption that will attract mom so that she'll come home and see what you guys built. | ” |
— Candace Flynn |
When the boys ask Candace to decide what they should do for the day, she slyly asks them to invent a device to attract their Mom so that she can finally bust her brothers. Meanwhile, Dr. Doofenshmirtz has invented a Baby-Cry-inator designed to tarnish his goodie-two-shoes brother's image with the electorate.
Episode Summary[]
Candace is talking to Stacy outside, where she can get some sun bathing and bust her brothers. Phineas and Ferb decide to let Candace choose what to do for the day. She wants them to build a Mom Attractor so their mom will come see what they build by using things she likes. Candace asks Lawrence what Linda likes, inadvertently inspiring him to make his rhubarb creme brulee for his spouse.
Perry heads to his lair, where Major Monogram briefs him about Doofenshmirtz buying polyethylene for disposable baby diapers, and tells Perry to check it out. Carl gives Perry a last minute alternative transportation via a gorilla.
At Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated, Doofenshmirtz sets up a stand. Perry enters, the gorilla leaves, and Doofenshmirtz traps Perry with his Happy-Jump-inator. Doofenshmirtz explains that his brother Roger, like most politicians, can't resist kissing babies. Because of that, he plans on using the Baby-Cry-inator to make kids cry while Roger greets them, causing people to dislike him.
At the backyard, Candace sees the Mom Attractor that Phineas and Ferb built. Phineas explains that it has everything that Linda likes, such as her Love Händel albums. As Candace activates it, she gets a call from Linda who gets a sudden urge to come home.
Meanwhile, Doofenshmirtz finishes his Baby-Cry-inator. Perry uses the Happy-Jump-inator to attack Doofenshmirtz and pulls the pacifier, causing the Baby-Cry-inator to start crying.
At the same time, as Candace sees Linda coming home, Linda wonders where the loud crying is coming from and starts running in the opposite direction. Phineas then explains that nothing attracts a mother more than a kid crying. The tantrum causes the Mom Attractor to become self-aware, and every mother in Danville starts heading straight to Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated to find the source of the crying & coughing.
Perry frees himself and fights Doofenshmirtz, who hears the moms banging at the doorstep. The Mom Attractor arrives, calms the Baby-Cry-inator, and leaves. As the Baby-Cry-inator stops crying, the rest of the moms go back to their daily lives. Roger then announces that babies like him, which makes the populace like him more.
Candace drags Linda and tells her that Phineas and Ferb built a Mom Attractor. Linda walks through the gate, but she only sees Lawrence with his rhubarb Creme Brulee and all of her favorite things in a table, and Linda agrees to have some. Outside the gate, a shocked Candace realizes the Mom Attractor is gone; elsewhere, the Mom Attractor is shown taking the Baby-Cry-inator to parts unknown. In the backyard, Lawrence tells Linda that everything was Candace's idea, and Linda compliments her.

Memorable Quotes[]
Candace: What are you guys doing?
Phineas: Well, you know how we do something new everyday? Candace: Noooo! Phineas: Oh, well, we try to build some big project or do something— Candace: I'm aware of the concept, Phineas. I was just being sarcastic. Phineas: Really? Hey, that was pretty good. Wow, I totally fell for it |
Candace: I'm trying to think of things that Mom likes. Dad: Oh, so many things, really. Music, hobbies, you kids. Ooh! You know, what she really likes, is my famous Rhubarb Crème Brulee. I used to make it for her all the time when we were dating. Oh, it made her so happy. (Candace gets up and leaves) You know, I should get out my toque and blowtorch and make one for her today. What a good idea Candace. Thank-you.(The sound of the door opens and closes) Candace? Well, all right then. |
Doofenshmirtz: Wow, this place has never looked neater than this! (Perry puts on his tropical hat) Aw, no! I've just had this place cleaned! (The gorilla comes out through the floor, picks Perry up and walks away with him) Curse you, Perry the Platypus! And your destructive, fruit-loving simian friend, who obviously doesn't know how to use a door! Curse him, too! |

- Candace switches from her swimsuit to her regular outfit between the time she starts chasing after Linda and the point where she catches her.
- When the gorilla leaves, he breaks down some of the wall and the door, but later, it's only the wall that is broken down while the door is fixed.

Allusions[]

- "Ride of the Valkyries" - This song can be heard when the kids are discussing Linda's Viking helmet.
- Carmen Miranda - Perry's hat is a reference to this Brazilian singer, who used to wear a fruit hat in her performances.
- "If I Had a Hammer" - Doofenshmirtz cannot remember where he previously heard the "Mallet Song", because the song does not exist; rather, he unknowingly composed a song in response to "If I Had a Hammer", a Folk Music anthem of the American Civil Rights movement, most famously performed by The Weavers, and by Peter, Paul and Mary.
- ¡Ay, caramba! - Doofenshmirtz says this exclamation popularized by Bart Simpson.
