The kids build a giant submarine sandwich submarine (out of actual food), to explore the Mariana Trench. Meanwhile, Doofenshmirtz's latest invention steals food for him while his oven is broken and he awaits a visit from the repairman.

Episode Summary[]

In the backyard, Phineas and the gang are putting the finishing touches on their latest creation, a submarine that resembles a submarine sandwich. As Candace spies on them, she gets a call from her mom reminding her that today will be the day of the sandcastle building competition. Phineas explains to the gang that they will use their sub to plant their flag in the Mariana Trench, the deepest part of the ocean.

Meanwhile, Perry enters his lair to find Major Monogram having some technical problems with the filters, making him resemble a sock puppet. Monogram informs him that Doofenshmirtz has been stealing food. When he reaches Doof's lab, Doof explains that he has been waiting the arrival of his oven repairman, who gave him a ridiculously long window of time. Since he has to be in his apartment until the repairman comes, he cannot make any food, so created the Fork-It-Over-inator to steal food from people's plates.

After the gang complete their sub, Candace stows away in an attempt to bust the boys as a helicopter carries the sub into the ocean. Once they reach the ocean, they plant their flag in what appears to be the Mariana Trench, but turns out to be a giant hungry fish monster, who gives them chase. The gang intend to use the escape vehicle to get away, but unfortunately, Buford ate the handle to the escape hatch, which was made of bread. So the gang instead use the escape sub as bait to feed the hungry fish monster, and make their way back up to land, as Candace approaches her Mom.

Back at Doof's lab, Doof has stolen enough food to feed him for weeks, but Perry kicks him into the inator, which latches onto the submarine sandwich submarine. As Doof gets pulled into the beach, he crashes into several sand sculptures before burying the submarine sandwich submarine in sand. When Linda and Candace arrive, Linda mistakenly believes this was Candace's entry in the contest, which she ends up winning.

At Doof's apartment, the oven repairman finally arrives, but leaves, since Doof is no longer there, having missed the window.

  • Press Your Luck - At one point, Doof says, "Big money, big money, no whammy!", which is a catchphrase from this game show first hosted by Peter David Tomarken and currently hosted by Elizabeth Banks. On the show, the "No whammies" line was referring to an animated devilish-like imp named the "Whammy", who would take away all the contestant's money.
