"We all decided it was high time to teach the squirrels how to be squirrels." — Buford[src] |
The Squirrel Camp is a training camp organized by Phineas with his friends' assistance in a quest to prepare gentle squirrels for a wild living.
History[]
Ferb returns home from the Debate Camp to the sight of his friends savoring muffins. Elucidating them on the early dispatch, he gets to glean more of their peculiar food, disclosed to stem from nuts sourced to the past day's venture. Commencing a recounting, Phineas reminisces on the original project, crafting mini surfboards for Isabella, who puts forward the idea of testing them out with squirrels. Incidentally, Baljeet and Buford find a box of rodents, whose tame nature motivates the kids to execute a skill coaching.
Before Phineas can advance the story, Candace stomps over to him and Ferb to figure out their current doings, electing to bring her mother since their narration serves as a firsthand confession of their acts. Insisting on the parent's presence, the teenager is fruitful in getting Linda to join her children, therefore letting the tale be resumed like previously agreed upon. A musical segment arises to befittingly delineate the next portion, demonstrating the gang's resolve in educating the squirrels on the know-how of the wilderness life.
Victorious on their objective, the group warmly congratulates the little fellas, albeit not without instructing a training follow-up. Candace, aware of the activities, carries out another attempt at dragging an adult to witness a ludicrous plan. In the meantime, a ginormous drop of water splashes the grass, giving way for a rodent surfing expedition out of the backyard. The account concluded, the ecstatic teenager awaits the mother's irate reaction, only to instead be met with praise towards the animal compassion ("What'd I Miss?").
Design[]
The Squirrel Camp is a training ground accommodating a number of props suitable for ability enrichment, counting a tiny brown wooden hurdle, a white pull down chart, small gray classroom desks, a light brown wind-up toy car, a light blue comb, a pink makeup kit, and brown-yellow acorn cupcakes. Cadets wear green combat helmets, while instructors can opt for a military uniform or coats.
Activities[]
The Squirrel Camp is an outdoors upskiller focused on five pillars of natural squirrel behavior, those being eating nuts, dodging cars, looking cute, climbing trees, and dancing. Helmed and evaluated by Phineas, the disciplinary courses are each tutored under differing personnel and environments; Baljeet heads the nut ingestion class in the backyard, Isabella guides the beauty program in the forest, and Buford commands the triad of physical practices in the park.
Background Information[]
- Phineas begins the yesterday flashback with a direct accompanying narration, which he rapidly stops so as to not become annoying.
- The five portable surfboards fabricated by Phineas are all based on the members of the gang; from left to right, they represent Isabella, Ferb, Phineas, Baljeet, and Buford.
- Buford states that the crate of squirrels had been placed next to a pack of scorpions desired by him. To settle on what to grab, he and Baljeet played a game of rock paper scissors, or Rochambeau as the latter calls it, resulting in a triumph of paper over rock for the nerd.
- Proving that the rodents are domesticated, Baljeet drops an acorn right in front of them, who assume it to be a rollable pebble.
- Making it up for the lack of Ferb, Baljeet takes his place for a moment, clearing his throat and twisting his head to look akin to the mute boy, to the others' surprise. Buford performs a similar play to emulate Perry, though he is not actually serious about the part.
- According to the kids, Candace had come to them in exactly the same manner as she does in the present day, minus screaming Ferb's name.
- Candace orders her brothers to stay quiet while she escorts her mother, adding that it applies to Ferb. Phineas points out the irony in that his sibling is normally silent, a rhetoric affirmed by his sister.
- Somewhat perplexed, Linda questions Buford's choice of teaching the art of dancing to squirrels, to which he responds by comparing himself to an onion. Baljeet believes that the bully refers to a multi-layered characteristic, but it turns out to be only a slice of the metaphor.
- A last workout is directed by Buford after the applause bit, requiring the pupils to climb down the tree. The first one to do so goes on its back, and is swiftly reprimanded into switching to the appropriate head diving.
- Riding the wave, the rodents achieve a pyramid formation, a technique confirmed not to have been touched upon to them by Isabella.
- Following the squirrels' departure, Buford swears on remembering them whenever he gets his rather frequent rabies shot.
- Expecting a bust, Candace whips out a camera to record Linda's chastising of the group, indeed receiving much of the opposite.
