Showdown at the Yo-Yo Corral is the ninth 8x8 book based on Phineas and Ferb, published on April 24, 2012.
Book Summary[]
Buford arrives in the backyard to show his new yo-yo to the gang, and Ferb pulls his own and demonstrates his expertise, though Buford is unimpressed. Candace is watching everything from her room, while complaining to her mom that the boys aren't doing anything bustable, until Phineas proposes a showdown to decide who is the better yo-yo'er. Meanwhile, Perry goes to Doofenshmirtz's lab where the doctor explains his new plan, the Giganta-Pogo-inator, with which he will distract the citizens of Danville so they can follow him out of town, and then he would return to take over the Tri-State Area.
Back in the backyard, the gang built the western town and dressed themselves like cowboys. Candace notices it and tries to call mom, only to be knocked into a mud puddle by a robotic horse. At noon, Ferb and Buford begin the showdown, each showing off their yo-yo tricks while Isabella and Baljeet spectate. At the same time, Doofenshmirtz goes out of his building with the pogo stick, but Perry manages to stop him and throw the machine into overdrive.
In the western town, Ferb outdoes Buford and wins the showdown, and they shake hands. Candace pulls herself up from the mud and races to get mom to see what the boys had built, but as she approaches the backyard, Doofenshmirtz's pogo stick bounces and crushes the town. The pogo is then destroyed, and Perry dives off with his parachute.
