"Is that a Football X-7 stadium? I knew it could be done!"
— Professor Ross Eforp[src]

Professor Ross Eforp is a theoretical physicist who pioneered the concept of Football X-7.

Biography[]

In 1952, he had the idea to create a more thrilling and challenging version of football he dubbed Football X-7. His concept was based on a gyroscopic and low gravity stadium, which would allow players to move in three dimensions. Following many failed attempts to concretize his project, the scientific community and sport enthusiasts shunned him, agreeing that Football X-7 was impossible. Amidst the controversy, it was discovered that his name is a palindrome, forcing the professor to go into hiding due to the opressive atmosphere at the time.

Decades later, two young inventors successfully build a stadium for Football X-7. As it is carried to the bus of the Snifferton Nostrils, the professor notices it and comments on how he had been sure that his idea was possible. He comes out of hiding, only to find out that palindrome names are still considered to be weird ("My Fair Goalie").

Physical appearance[]

Professor Ross Eforp is light-skinned and has grey hair, a grey beard, and a grey mustache. He wears a white shirt, a dark grey jacket with grey elbow pads, black pants, black shoes, and glasses with black rims.

In the 1950s, he had blond hair, a blond beard, and a blond mustache.

Personality[]

He is stubborn and melodramatic. He persisted with his concept for as long as he could, despite not being taken seriously by his peers. He makes a big deal out of it, excitedly proclaiming his return after being proven correct.

Relationships[]

Scientific Community[]

His fellow scientists were quick to discredit him, causing his project to be considered ridiculous.

Public[]

He is seen as a weird individual by the general public, being ignored mostly because of his unusual name.

Background Information[]

  • Professor Ross Eforp's name is a palindrome, as "Ross Eforp" is "Profe Ssor" backwards.
  • Professor Ross Eforp's way of hiding is by covering his face with a paper bag. This is a common manner of concealing a character's identity as seen in various media.
  • The equations written in the professor's blackboard are nonsensical, which is something often done in cartoons. In addition, there is a mistake in the top right, where a sine function doesn't have a value in parenthesis.
  • The documentary on the professor shows three of his failed attempts, in which the stadium falls down the base; goes underground; and shrivels like a balloon.
  • Professor Ross Eforp created the concept for Football X-7 in 1952. Since the series takes place in the 2000s, the professor has to be at least in his 70s at the present time.
  • Professor Ross Eforp is voiced by Richard O'Brien, who used an older-sounding version of his Lawrence voice.
