Prank-A-Tron 5000 is a soundboard game based on Disney XD shows, developed by Visible Media for the Disney website and app on May 30, 2014. With it, players could devise audio gags propelled by various program soundbites.

Gameplay[]

Various audio snippets can be selected for the mixer, nine of which are placed in the key screen by default. Accessing the Sounds segment allows the player to inspect libraries split into series, where clips may be heard via pressing the play button and added to the board using the plus icon. Beyond the prepared fragments, users have the ability to conceive and insert their own radical tunes employing the recording function, thereafter assigning it to a collection. Picking the Layout option permits the shifting and removing of stored spots as desired.

Once the choices are made, one is able to drag up to ten blurbs inside the player tab on the left side so as to create a stack mashup to be freely named and saved after moving its card onto the main panel. Six different pranks are available to pull off upon holding a custom or regular bit; Sound Bomb plays it passing a delay, Shock Video has it interrupting a random video, Annoyer rings it in a repeated interval, Motion Trigger activates it based on bumping, Prank Call beeps it on a contact, and Covert Mode triggers it under a dark display disguise.

Background Information[]

  • According to the designers, the objective of the creative pastime was to engage a children audience between eight to twelve years old into discovering more shows from the network by becoming familiar with them through a cool activity. It received over 175,000 plays on the Disney XD app on its first month, rendering the challenge a smashing success.[1]
  • The nine basic snippers stationed on the console from the start are "MMMmm Green Stuff" from Crash & Bernstein, "Snore" from Fish Hooks, "Behold My Butt" from Gravity Falls, "Flamenco Sound Bite" from Kickin' It, "Sound Bite Intense" from Lab Rats, "Ewwww Gross" from Mighty Med, "Gotchya!" and "Perry Gurgle" from Phineas and Ferb, and "Theme Song" from Wander Over Yonder.
  • Blurb cards normally have character icons reflecting the source of quotes, an XD smiley face over miscellaneous voice bits, a frequency symbol representing background cues, and a note emblem indicating tunes. On the board area, the latter is replaced by the figure used to define the specific series. Characters shown are indexed below:

  • An aggregate of almost 48.5 sextillion medley combinations are possible to generate by mixing the given sound blurbs, taking into account the same-snippet pairs, the negligible placement order, and every amalgam from two to ten.
