"Let's get to work, this'll be the biggest picnic ever!" — Phineas[src] |
Picnicland is an amusement park built by Phineas and Ferb to augment the picnic experience on a bigger scale.
History[]
Phineas announces his project of the day to his friends, but is surprised to see Buford, Baljeet, and Ferb having to leave for different engagements. Excited to spend time alone with her crush, Isabella offers to bring the Fireside Girl Manual for inspiration on an activity fitting for two people. Using the excuse to call upon her troop, the scout leader has them establish a nearby headquarters so that they can monitor her one-sided date.
Candace, walking on the street, notices the out-of-place lodge. Curious, she questions the reasoning for such an extraneous affair, in hopes of finding a connection to her brothers. Learning of Isabella's interest on Phineas, the like-minded teenager agrees to help her cause. Back in the backyard, the scout leader incites Phineas to have a picnic, showcasing her basket to proceed with her plan smoothly, all the while her troop get rid of outside interferences.
Initially flawless, the scheme gets sidetracked with Ferb's sudden arrival. His right-hand man back, Phineas gets the idea to construct the biggest picnic ever at the park. Later, Candace observes the finished amusement park, settling then to retract her not-busting vow. Relishing the moment, she gets her mother to go there. The picnic-themed funfair is teleported away prior to Linda's entrance, leaving Phineas and Isabella by themselves in the regular landscape ("It's No Picnic").
Design[]
Picnicland is a picnic-themed amusement park, having the typical red-pink-white checkered blanket as the floor pattern. Its rides are primarily based on common elements of outdoor hangouts, namely baskets, burgers, hot dogs, condiments, and waffles, among other items and foods.
Activities[]
Attractions present in Picnicland include a basket ferris wheel, burger cars, a spinning patty grill, a basket coaster, a basket fork lift, a junk food carousel, a waffle tram, and ketchup, mustard, and milkshake houses. Additional features are carnival stands, and sculptures of a hot dog, a burger, ketchup, mustard, salt, pepper, and ham.
Background Information[]
- Picnicland's name is only stated by Candace, who utters it prior to entering the park. It is likely a reference to Disneyland, a theme park owned by Disney which was the stage for many attractions related to Phineas and Ferb.
- The specific appointments that lead Buford, Baljeet, and Ferb to leave are a family gathering, a cooking class, and a dentist consultation, respectively.
- Isabella's picnic plan is called "Operation: Perfect Picnic". Once Ferb returns, she concludes it with a rename to "Operation: Ginormous Non-Romantic Overblown Picnic".
- During their first meal together, Isabella presents two Mexican-Jewish delicacies, a "gefilte-flan" and an "enchillatke". The former is a combination of gefilte fish and flan, while the latter is a mix of enchilada and latke.
- Baljeet and Buford hold their family cuisine showcases within the amusement park. A heated moment between the two ends up with the Tjinder family's vindaloo and the Van Stomm family's bitterballen spilling into each other.
- Picnicland's lift is a play on the literal interpretation of a forklift, a mechanism supported by forks.
