| "I know! We could create a highly intricate and sophisticated machine that will transport any object from anywhere on the globe to our backyard!" — Phineas[src] |
The Photo-transporter is a transportation device created by Phineas and Ferb so that they can retrieve lost objects and perform risky stunts.
History[]
The boys are rummaging an upside-down garage, in hopes of encountering Ferb's preferred skateboard. Discerning the ruckus, Lawrence enters the room, perplexed at the irregular space. Enlightened on his sons' efforts, the father remembers the whereabouts of the prized item, instructing them to follow him after rearranging the area. Checking the family computer, he showcases Grandpa Reg's blog, in which the senior posted pictures riding the equipment, inspiring the brothers to build a teleporter for retrieval.
Soon afterwards, Phineas and Ferb complete the machine, configuring it as Buford comes by carrying an apple, which is taken for the trial run. A second test on a more complex subject transfigures the bully with a passing fly, issuing specific filters to prevent unwanted permutations. Triumphant, the brothers operate the invention to bring the missing board back, briefly materializing their grandfather's feet by accident. Compelled to push limitations, the two conduct a wild gigantic ramp skating experiment, easily beating the gravitational pull.
Candace rushes to the Cultural Fest to alert Linda of the dangerous scheme. Meanwhile, Phineas and Ferb oblige to their friends' rescuing requests, integrating some daring enjoyment along the way. At the festivities, the teenager conjures up a method of fetching her mother, snapping an image for teleportation. As the boys scan Perry, their sister inputs the partying parent, who at the time was swinging a bat trying to hit a piñata and winds up unknowingly chasing everyone, opening a window for the spy to transfer an evil creation, promptly blown alongside the contraption ("Picture This").
Design[]
The Photo-transporter is an intricate contraption with a dark gray disc base containing two yellow triangle symbols and a green circle sign; a light gray platform, a white central circle, a cylindrical computer console featuring a piano-styled keyboard, two dark gray oval slots, four red buttons, two square grids in green-orange and yellow patterns, and a dark blue screen; a round edge triple-holed gray connector, two red linking wires, a vase-shaped materializer, and a dark gray white-tipped satellite with a red wiring.
Mechanics[]
The Photo-transporter is a photographic teleporter functioning on the concept of spatial transfer of matter. Through the side slots, it allows the intake of a picture focusing on a particular entity, towards which a green antenna beam can be programmed to reach, on a global scope. Upon being hit, the designated target disappears from its original spot, emerging straightened at the receiving pad, a process manifested via a transparent aura. It is able to fuse two items together, depending on the active settings. Should the target be holding something at the moment they got teleported, that object will be teleported with them as well.
Background Information[]
- Seeing the inverted garage, Lawrence yells about it to his wife, who takes it in a figurative connotation for scrambling.
- Listening to his children's idea, the father suggests the construction of a brand new skateboard instead, a plan respectfully declined by Phineas and Ferb in favor of a funner activity.
- Buford provokes the boys to remove the apple out of his head, to which Ferb snaps a photo of it, leading the former to remark on it technically counting as shooting off, since the latter does shoot a picture. Teasing them before the transportation, the bully references William Tell's alleged apple-shot feat.
- Similarly to the accidental leg surfacing, Buford's hair is slightly shaved into a buzz cut once the apple is transferred.
- Recovering his feet, Reginald gets them on backwards, enabling him to walk in opposite directions to the usual.
- Before the half-pipe test begins, a bird nearly crashes onto it, but Ferb pulls a lever to open a small gate for the animal's passage.
- Candace is motivated to use the device against her siblings after taking a photo of herself at the festival. She borrows the photographer's heirloom camera for the task.
- The requests attended by Phineas and Ferb are the tracing of Buford's stranded teddy bear Teddy Boo Boo, Isabella's Mindy doll, and Baljeet's vacationing Uncle Maulik.
- In between the contraption's formal applications, Phineas, Isabella, Baljeet, and Buford assemble a red slingshot mechanism to launch themselves into the sky, from where they are picked up by Ferb using the remote conveyance.
- When Linda is sent home, she believes that the game of blind whacking a piñata is still ongoing, hence why she tails the gang. Her bat slips away from her grip after she is knocked down by Candace, activating the shifted invention's self-destruct button.
