"Phinedroids and Ferbots" is sung by the Phinedroids and Ferbots created by Phineas and Ferb during the episode "I, Brobot". They are voiced by Aaron Jacob[1] and Martin Olson.[2]
Lyrics[]
Ferbots: Phinedroids and Ferbots
Phinedroids and Ferbots
Phinedroids and Ferbots
Phinedroids and Ferbots
Phinedroids: We're Phinedroids and Ferbots
And we're stomping our feet
To the electric, magnetic, mechanical beat
We've got light bulbs for eyes
And aluminum noses
Ferbots: We're busting chillin' moves with our robot poses
(Busting chillin' moves with our robot poses)
Ferbots: Phinedroids and Ferbots
Phinedroids and Ferbots
Phinedroids and Ferbots
Ferbot: Word
(Second verse, sung when the brobots enter Dance mode a second time)
Ferbots: Phinedroids and Ferbots
Phinedroids and Ferbots
Phinedroids and Ferbots
Phinedroids and Ferbots
Phinedroids: We're Phinedroids and Ferbots
And we're here to stay
Now our work is done,
We're shutting down for the day
But we've learned our lesson
We're switching to decaf lattes
(at this point, the lyrics cannot be understood because they fade out and are covered by Candace's and Linda's lines)
(when the volume comes back up on the song, it finishes with:)
Ferbot: ...our imagination.
Phinedroids: We're Phinedroids and Ferbots
And we're here to stay,
Now our work is done
we're shutting down for the day
But we've learned our lesson
We're switching to decaf lattes
Ferbots: Phinedroids and Ferbots
Phinedroids and Ferbots
Phinedroids and Ferbots
Phinedroids and Ferbots
Ferbot: Word
Soundtrack version[]
Phinedroids and Ferbots
Phinedroids and Ferbots
Phinedroids and Ferbots
Phinedroids and Ferbots
We're Phinedroids and Ferbots
And we're stomping our feet
To the electric, magnetic, mechanical beat
We've got light bulbs for eyes
And aluminum noses
We're busting chillin' moves with our robot poses
(Busting chillin' moves with our robot poses)
My arm was a gutter, my right shin was a drain
The whole thing is controlled by ti-titanium brains
But without imagination, everything we create turns out lame
(Imagination, our imagination)
We're Phinedroids and Ferbots
And we're here to stay
Now our work is done
We're shutting down for the day
But we've learned our lesson
We're switching to decaf lattes
Phinedroids and Ferbots
Phinedroids and Ferbots
Phinedroids and Ferbots
Phinedroids and Ferbots
Word
Demo version[]
We're Phinedroids and Ferbots
And we're stomping our feet
To the electric, magnetic, mechanical beat
To create and event, takes a heart and your brain
But with robot parts, all we make is lame
We've got light bulbs for eyes
And aluminum noses
And no one can deny our technogratic poses
(No one can deny our technogratic poses)
(No, no one can deny our technogratic poses)
When you leave your work for someone else to do
You made up something important in mapping and scope
Humans have unique ideas and a mind of their own
And inventions are lacking when they're made by a drone
We're programmed to build and work as a team
But we can't visualize or have a daydream
(No, we can't visualize or have a daydream)
(No, we can't visualize or have a daydream)
We're Phinedroids and Ferbots
And we're stomping our feet
To the electric, magnetic, mechanical beat
We have yarn for hair and gloves for hands
We're busting chillin' moves as we robot jam
(Yeah, we're busting chillin' moves as we robot jam)
(Yeah, we're busting chillin' moves as we robot jam)
Background Information[]
- This song was originally titled "Robot Jam" in its composition stage, a fact reflected in one of the unused lyrics present throughout the demo.
- Aluminum is known as "aluminium" outside of the United States. Aluminum is pronounced "uh-loo-min-num" while Aluminium is pronounced "ah-loo-min-nee-um". The song uses the US version's pronunciation.
- It is more or less a parody of "Funkytown", an 80s song, as stated by Candace saying, "Ugh, 80s music is so 2002!"
- The song has apparent influences from The Robots and The Model by electronic band Kraftwerk, in rhythm and the manner in which the vocals are spoken. The German version (titled "Phindroid-Ferboter") bears yet more similarities with Kraftwerk. The first version of this song is even more similar to Kraftwerk as well.
- A remixed version of this song is featured in Phineas and Ferb: The Best Live Tour Ever!.
- The melody that can be briefly heard in the intro and outro sounds like the one that is heard in the beginning of the Extended Dance version of the 80's song The Safety Dance.
- An instrumental version of this song is heard in "No More Bunny Business" when Candace asks Dennis the Rabbit to perform "the robot," as well as in "Ain't No Kiddie Ride" when Ferb performs "the robot" to earn a quarter.
- An initial version of the song using these lyrics would have had the words "lame" and "lattes" sung with the same "ay-ay-ay" stress refrain heard on the lines "Never flinch from a fray" and "whenever they hear him say" from Perry's theme.
