POV

Here on the Phineas and Ferb Wiki, we have several points of view, mostly in-universe. (See also: Manual of Style)

In-universe[]

Most articles on this wiki are written from an "in-universe" point of view. This means that it is written as if it were written by someone from the Phineas and Ferb universe.

For example, use:

Phineas's mother Linda later met a man named Lawrence and he became his stepfather ("Dude, We're Getting The Band Back Together").

instead of:

As seen in "Dude, We're Getting the Band Back Together", Phineas' mother married a man named Lawrence at a concert.

There are different ways of using the IU style of the POV depending on the article-type.

Characters, objects, and locations[]

On articles that are seen in or mentioned in episodes, especially characters, objects, and locations, use a tense that is completely in-universe. This involves writing as if you are in the Phineas and Ferb universe. Preferably use past tense, due to the extensive and extremely sketchy timeline of the show. The only out-of-universe part of the core of these articles are when citing sources.

When referencing a character, full names (Linda Flynn, Heinz Doofenshmirtz, etc.) should be used the first time a character is introduced in the series, and on the character's biography page. Afterwards, use just their first name whenever possible.

For relationships between characters, use the term the character would use. Examples: "son" for when Lawrence Fletcher talks to Ferb, "grandpa" when Phineas talks to Reginald Fletcher. The code for these nicknames would be: son and grandpa. Shorter redirects are already in place for most characters, so that Ferb can be used instead of Ferb Fletcher or Ferb

Neutrality[]

On this wiki, we always write articles from a neutral point of view. This means, when writing an article, never "take sides."

For example, when writing about Candace, you are taking the side against her when you say that "Candace is really annoying when she overreacts". To not take any sides, this should instead be written as "Candace tends to overreact very easily".
