Phineas and Ferb Wiki

To create a category, start a new article under the name Category:WHATEVER YOU WANT IT TO BE CALLED, replace the words in all caps with the category name. Then enter the category description in the editing window.

Category naming[]

Categories should adhere to the following naming conventions:

  • (person/object/place) images —— for images of a person or object, such as "Actor images", "Bob Webber images", and "Dan Povenmire images".
  • (person/object/place) avatars —— for images that are cropped for use as an avatar, such as "Candace Flynn avatars" or "Object avatars".
  • (family name) family —— for listing the members of a family, such as "Johnson family".
  • Images from (episode) —— for pictures from the specified episode.
  • Users who (description) —— for user-made categories.

Other categories will be straightforward, such as Authors, Games or Projects.

Existing categories[]

  • Check the Wanted categories page to see if someone else has already created a link to a category that has not been created yet.
  • Check Unused categories to see if someone already created the category you are thinking of in preparation for pages or files being added to it.
  • To see the categories that have already been created, refer to the full list of categories. The category you are thinking of adding may already exist under a different name.
  • Categories can also be created on individual pages by clicking on Add category at the bottom of the page. Type in the category and pause before pressing Enter. The wiki will do a search to see if any existing categories match what you've typed so far. For example, if you type "Images from The", you will see that 10 categories match this, including "Images from The Bully Code" and "Images from The Fast and the Phineas".

Guidelines[]

  • Do not add categories at random or categories that express a personal opinion like "Category:I think that Meap is the cutest thing in the universe".
  • Consider whether the category is really necessary. If everyone just starts creating categories for whatever they want, then categories will be too convoluted to be of any use.
  • A library has a standard method for organizing books. You use a card catalog or a computer to find them. But if everyone was allowed to write whatever they want in the catalog or computer, then it becomes a lot harder to find the books you're looking for. One person may decide that a book on woodcarving belongs in the tools section because you have to use a tool to carve wood. Another person would categorize it by the types of wood you could carve. Another might say it's a hobby, but a different person says it's a profession.
