Phineas and Ferb: Day of Doofenshmirtz is a platformer game based on Phineas and Ferb, developed by Virtual Toys and published by Disney Interactive Studios for the PlayStation Vita on November 4, 2015. It is notably the only one to be released after the series originally ended.

Plot[]

Phineas and Ferb are watching Monster Truck Mayhem on TV, where they hear there's an invincible monster truck, which gives Phineas the idea to build their own truck to compete. Meanwhile, Dr. Doofenshmirtz is complaining about the costumer service at an appliance store, and plans his revenge on it. The boys finish the construction of the Carsaurus Moto-Rex and use it on a test drive. At Doofenshmirtz's base, he presents his Appliance Control-inator, planning to use it to control all devices and take over the Tri-State Area. After the inator fires, the Carsaurus goes out of control, and Phineas and Ferb go after it.

After failing to defeat their invention at the fair, Phineas and Ferb go home to build something more powerful. Meanwhile, Perry observes the appliances' attack and heads to his lair, and Doofenshmirtz is having trouble controlling his devices. At the O.W.C.A. headquarters, Major Monogram informs Perry of what Doofenshmirtz did, and the agent chases the doctor's zeppelin. Agent P defeats the machine that was terrorizing Heinz, and the doctor escapes, but not before a tracker is planted on his ride.

On the next morning, Phineas and Ferb are working on a Un-Sentience Ray to bring Carsaurus back to normal. At the Danville Arcade, Candace spots the boys, but a claw crane attacks her and Jeremy before she can do anything, and she is subsequently trapped. Phineas and Ferb see their sister trapped and run to save her. After defeating the claw crane, Phineas, Ferb, and Candace return home, and their mom reminds them of their dentist appointments. Because of that, the boys are forced to leave the Un-Sentience Ray they just built.

In the depths of Earth, Doofenshmirtz is proceeding with his plan while, unbeknownst to him, his location is sent to Major Monogram, who tells Perry. Agent P then grabs his owners' invention and heads to the center of the Earth. After reaching the central computer running the underground facility, Perry manages to disable it, foiling Heinz's plans but giving him an opportunity to escape.

Back at home, Phineas and Ferb notice the missing ray, but, thanks to the locator that was installed in it, they track its location in the center of the Earth, and hurry to it as the monster truck show is starting soon. The boys build a Super Digger, and use their time machine and Baljeet's help to get the plasma capsules in the future to power it up. Back in the present, and with all the capsules, the boys charge the digger and find the Un-Sentience Ray.

The Carsaurus Moto-Rex is fighting Truck Chucker when Phineas and Ferb make their way into the stadium, but they find out it's too late and Carsaurus has won. Following a fight, the boys manage to use the ray and defeat their creation, and wonder what they're gonna do tomorrow as the sun sets.

Gameplay[]

The player can move Phineas, Ferb, and Perry with the Joystick or D-pad, press the X button once to jump and twice to double jump, and press the Circle button to interact with other characters and objects as well as to use the Mess-Mender to fix destroyed items. To use the gadgets, the player has to move the Joystick to aim and use the R button to shoot. Each gadget has a number of shots that can be recharged by interacting with fixed toolboxes.

Each character has a special skill, as Phineas can use the Backpack-copter to fly across large gaps, Ferb can move large objects in order to solve puzzles, and Perry can use his hovercar in certain levels. Some levels are minigames in which the player has to complete a task, such as guiding scrap cubes through conveyor belts.

Toolboxes that recover health, screws, and bronze, silver, and gold tokens can be collected in most of the levels. The toolboxes and tokens can be obtained by finding them on the map, and the latter is also found by shooting objects, while screws are earned by defeating enemies. Silver and gold tokens are worth 10 and 100 bronze tokens, respectively. Tokens can be used to buy costumes for Phineas and Ferb, batteries and shot chips, and the latter two can be combined with screws to craft shots for the gadgets.

In each chapter, there is a piece of a dimensional generator which, when completed, allows access to otherwise blocked areas.

Extras[]

In the extras, a robot can be activated by pointing the controller to a "floor full of color". The robot can dance to different tunes and be customized with multiple accessories, all of which is found in the robot section of the workshop.

There is also an arcade where a shooter minigame with 15 levels can be played to earn tokens.
