Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension is a junior novel based on the eponymous film, published on June 28, 2011.

Book Summary[]

Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension is a near word-for-word adaptation of the flick of the same name, split in nine chapters. Differences between the book and the movie as broadcast are noted below. In general, most of the discrepancies are related to certain sequences not as fitting to a print format, namely the musical numbers and screen-geared gags, alongside a few missing lines throughout. Furthermore, the timing placement of select scenes is adjusted under artistic freedom to fit the descriptive narrative in smoother fashion.

Unlike previous chapter books, there are no pictures from the film to illustrate what is being detailed so as to not spoil the visuals. An insert of certain captures cropped into curved rectangles is included next to the midpoint of the book to compensate for this, each one accompanied by tease captions. A halftone artwork of Phineas-2 and Ferb-2 within a portal is appended at the beginning of all chapters, beside the numbers. For perspective changes, a symbol consisting of a faint bar is utilized as a notation, permitting a plot flow similar to the base material.
