"Take your hands off me, copper! I know my rights!"
— Peggy McGee[src]

Peggy McGee, nicknamed The Pyramid, is a neighbor of the Flynn-Fletcher family who has seen all of Phineas and Ferb's projects.

Biography[]

Candace notices her neighbor watching her and hangs onto the fence to talk, wondering if she moved there recently. Peggy tells Candace that she has been there the whole summer, noting that she enjoys watching the boys' Big Ideas. Complimenting Phineas and Ferb, she names the rollercoaster, the spa, and the platypus-themed restaurant as some of her favorite projects, citing their sitcom as the best one. Candace urges Peggy to go talk to Linda about her brothers' activities, but the neighbor doesn't want to leave her house, so Candace decides to bring her mom over.

Linda is brought to the fence to see Peggy, but the neighbor is not in the window. After her mom walks away, Candace checks it and Peggy appears, revealing that she had dropped a penny. In a second attempt, Linda only finds a bonsai tree where the neighbor is supposed to be, but Peggy comes soon afterwards to water the plant. Later, Candace and her mom go to the neighbor's house to meet her, since she had agreed to come down. Before she can say anything, Peggy is taken by the police, who explain that the old lady is the ring leader of a pyramid scheme, consisting in the fabrication of false shapes ("Thanks But No Thanks").

Physical appearance[]

Peggy is light-skinned and has grey hair and green eyes. She wears a magenta shirt with two white buttons, dark red pants, and yellow earrings.

Personality[]

She is deceitful and somewhat kind. Carrying out her scheme, she has no problem hiding her status as a criminal and standing against the cops. In spite of that, she seems to be generally nice, caring about her plants and enjoying the kids' activities.

She likes their ingenuity, closely observing each of their endeavors.

She takes a liking to Candace, trying to help the girl despite the risks and entrusting her with the house following her arrest.

Linda[]

At first, Linda believes Candace is exaggerating about the neighbor, but she is surprised to hear that Peggy is a criminal.

Police[]

She appears to be one of the police's most wanted targets, as it takes no time for her to be caught after she comes out.

Background Information[]

  • Peggy is the only character in Phineas and Ferb whose eyes are drawn with pupils.
  • Peggy telling Candace that she's not up to leaving the house foreshadows her being a criminal, as she needs to conceal her identity from the public and is arrested once she comes out.
  • Peggy's crime is a parody of actual pyramid schemes, taken in a literal way. Instead of a business model, it involves the falsification of goods' shapes, using optical illusions to pass two-dimensional figures off as three-dimensional.
  • According to Peggy, she tried to get a reservation for Phineas and Ferb's restaurant, but was unable to in part because of the bouncer.
  • Peggy is an allusion to the viewer of the series, being aware of the boys' inventions and of recurring occurrences, such as someone always wondering where Perry is, Candace's busting attempts, and Linda offering the kids pie.
  • Peggy is voiced by Goldie Hawn, whose guest appearance was revealed by Dan Povenmire on Twitter on July 2, 2013.[1] Hawn's role in the episode is the first acting job she's had in over a decade, after The Banger Sisters.
