Off the Map is the eleventh in a series of chapter books based on Phineas and Ferb, published on September 25, 2012.
Book Summary[]
Off the Map is a near word-for-word adaptation of the episodes "Get That Bigfoot Outa My Face!" and "The Ballad of Badbeard", presented as Part One and Part Two. The book makes no transition between the two parts. Differences between the book and the episodes as broadcast are noted below. In general, most of the differences are that of timing, where an event is described as happening at a slightly different time (usually before) than when it happened in the episode, though some lines are missing from the episode.
Each page typically has a picture from the episode that helps the reader visualize what is being described. The picture is a halftone screenshot from the episode (taken from the wide format originals), cropped into custom shapes such as rectangles in a picture frame format. Each chapter includes a picture of a different character at the beginning of the chapter, and Perry's image appears next to each page number.

- Betty Jo is incorrectly referred to as "Betty Joe".
Differences between the book and the episodes[]
Most timing differences, where an event occurs in the book a few moments before when it does in the episode, will not be noted here.

- Cut sequence: Grandma Betty Jo attempting to raise Candace's spirits by inviting the teenager to brainstorm a natural fun ploy while the group enjoys a banjo is skipped.
- Missing line: Phineas expressing his taste for toasty marshmallows in the campfire, "Ahh. Just how I like 'em. You just earned your marshmallow patch, my friend", is jumped.
- Missing line: Baljeet affirming that it would have probably been a good forethought to pack extra underwear in view of Bigfoot, "I really should have packed more underpants", is erased.

Part Two ("The Ballad of Badbeard")[]

- Missing line: Candace confirming to herself that the image of Perry as a secret agent is originating from the moss, "It must be the moss", is skipped.
- Cut sequence: Buford and Baljeet provocation swordfighting at the lake shore around their daring friends is jumped.
- Missing line: Phineas reassuring his intrepid crew of their treasure trajectory's easiness to boost morale, "Easy-peasy", is erased.
- Cut sequence: The puppet tomfoolery performed in the perilous cove by a jolly Buford to the reprimanding of his hurried pals is removed.
- Missing line: Baljeet passively commenting on the possible outcome of his underwear if he had been wearing some in the journey is eliminated.
- Missing line: Buford calling Phineas by the nickname Dinner Bell in the worry of not locating the aimed bounty is deleted.
