"Welcome to the No Stop Truck Stop. It's like a little bit of home, on the road!" — Phineas[src] |
No Stop Truck Stop is a truck stop diner built by Phineas and Ferb to fulfill their desire to visit one in a road trip.
History[]
Phineas and Ferb realize that, during the family road trip, they did not get a chance to stop at a truck stop diner. Thanks to Candace's half-asleep suggestion, the boys set out to build one of their own. Some time later, the two finish a modification of their seats, allowing them to rise to the roof. Atop the RV, they receive the necessary materials for their project from a truck driver.
Waking up from her slumber, Candace notices that her brothers are missing. Since her parents are oblivious to this, she decides to investigate on her own, using a stair to access the rooftop. She then rides an escalator into the boys' establishment, where she ends up instinctively working as a waitress, until she realizes what she has been doing.
A nearby fight causes the RV to go off-track for a brief moment, passing next to an explosion. This stuns Candace, who falls off the escalator, and back into the roof. Coming back, she swipes the boys in attempt to show her mom what they had done, only to look like they are all sitting normally. Irked, Candace pushes Linda to go on top of the vehicle, but the diner comes apart in a bridge for a traditional couple to now own ("Road Trip").
Design[]
No Stop Truck Stop is a beige diner house with red vinyl awnings containing three windows below each, a striped entrance, a brown door with a window, a blue and white check pattern above the awnings, a yellow windsock and external piping on the roof, a burgundy triangular logo with a red line, a vehicle ramp supported by four wheels, and a paved drive-through section.
Sustained by a two-wheeled post, the establishment's interior features a blue and white check-floored lounge area with tables in between two red seats each, and one table with two brown chairs; a grey counter with red seats, men and women's bathrooms, a kitchen, a jukebox, and an employees-only room.
Activities[]
Food served by No Stop Truck Stop include coffee, hash browns breakfast, fruit breakfast, orange juice, eggs southwest with bacon, cold water, chicken fried steak, burger, pie, stew, pancakes, Devil's food cake, biscuits, and a birthday cake. For seasonings, there are gravy, ketchup, pepper, assorted mammal chunks, fine sauce, butter, and fancy sauce, known as salt. Additionally, there are extra drinks in a freezer, and a three-headed toad attraction.
Background Information[]
- The name of No Stop Truck Stop is a reference to its unique mobility aspect, in that it does not actually stop anywhere, unlike a typical truck stop.
- According to Phineas, the best parts of a truck diner are the jukeboxes, the sassy waitresses, and the little bowl of mints by the cash register. The first two elements are present in their establishment, whilst the latter cannot be seen, but is likely to be.
- The materials delivered to the boys are a seasoned grill, 300 pounds of coffee, 200 pounds of fatback, four tons of lumber, and assorted wheat, rye, and pumpernickel breads.
- No Stop Truck Stop's goal seems to be providing truck drivers with a homelike feeling, hence its slogan, "It's like a little bit of home, on the road!".
- The gravy complement is dished out using a fuel nozzle, reminiscent of the refueling service at actual truck stops. In the refill machine, there are options for "regular" and "diesel", further adding to the gas station feel.
- The song describing the truck stop's services mentions that the jukebox plays hits from 1966. This is an allusion to the period of peak popularity for these devices, when they were installed in many facilities.
- In the musical number, a line states that the biscuits and gravy go down like wet cement, a nod to liquid concrete's similarity to water.
- The three-headed toad exhibited in the counter may be a subtle reference to the supposed discovery of a similar-looking animal in England in 2004.
- Prior to being grabbed by Candace, Phineas and Ferb had been listening to a story about how truckers saved Christmas, alluding to a previous song, which in itself refers to the Red Sovine song.
