Mike van Hatofapilgrim is a reporter who works for Danville News. He covers the Running of the Chinchillas, which turns into a beast mayhem.
Biography[]
At the 100th Annual Running of the Chinchillas, Mike presents the Rutabaga Princess, Candace, and hypes up the event. As the running begins, Mike continues his coverage, calling the studio. The cameraman reminds him that the studio is closed, since it's Sunday, and that they are taping the broadcast, to the reporter's annoyance.
While Candace and Stacy are racing, the chinchillas are zapped and transformed into beasts. The animals chase the girls, tipping a news van over. Noticing the chaos, Mike orders the cameraman to contact the helicopter crew. In the chopper, Mike expresses his happiness in riding it. He almost falls off out of fear, seeing Phineas and Ferb being taken in by the beasts.
After the rodents are turned back to normal, Mike approaches the kids and tells them that he captured all the action on camera. He then points to the helicopter, which is infested with chinchillas. They fly off with the equipment inside, to Mike's dismay ("Der Kinderlumper").
Physical appearance[]
Mike is light-skinned and has black hair and brown eyes. He wears a white suit, a grey jacket with two dark grey buttons, a red tie, grey pants, and black shoes.
Personality[]
He is enthusiastic and emotional. He tends to become excited over the subjects of his coverages, showing a wide variety of emotions while working. Filming the chinchilla incident, he is overjoyed to be in a helicopter, gets frightened when the kids are attacked by the animals, and cries after the footage is taken away with the chopper.

The cameraman is often bothered by Mike's energetic behavior, wishing he didn't work for him.
Candace[]
At first, he is happy to get a word from the Rutabaga Princess. After the chinchilla incident, he is impressed with Candace, who consoles him when his helicopter is taken away.
Background Information[]
- Like fellow reporter Gordon Gutsofanemu, Mike's last name makes up a phrase, in his case "Hat of a pilgrim".
- Mike is based on and voiced by Gordon Tokumatsu, a reporter and college friend of Dan Povenmire.[1] Tokumatsu's guest appearance was first teased by him on December 1, 2011[2], and confirmed by Povenmire nearly a year later, on November 13, 2012.[1]
