“ | It's the third installment of Meap. If you haven't seen the first two, go back and watch them now. We will wait... Okay, we're done waiting. The first episode of Meap ended with a trailer of random shots for an episode we never intended to make. But then, we had to write around those shots, incorporating them into a second episode. At which point, we knew we weren't going to make a third episode, so we ended it with an even dumber trailer. [...] Now, somehow, we have to incorporate these twelve shots into an episode. Here goes. | ” |
— Opening narration |
In the third installment in the Meap saga, Meap enlists Candace and the kids to help bust his nemesis, Mitch, before he can steal a long-lost treasure hidden somewhere on Earth.
Episode Summary[]
Part 1[]
Meap believes that Mitch has been running fake tours as a front to obtain funds in search of the "Lost Treasure of Zachariah Yore" to fund his criminal empire. When his Alliance doesn't believe him, he decides to rogue and reunites with Phineas, Ferb, Candace, and the kids for their assistance. In order to lure Mitch to Earth, Baljeet suggests creating "Stabby Barf Pain", a combination of all four seasons. Meanwhile, Doofenshmirtz requests Perry's help with finding new ways to be "maniacal".
Meap interacts with Candace while she's at Bango-Ru-themed birthday party at the Johnson house's for Suzy and tells her that they got new new translators so he wouldn't need the mustache translator and why he sounds like John Stamos, he tells her that Mitch is back with a new evil scheme but no one would believe him and needed her help to stop him before Suzy tries to get Candace to show her how to bust it after Brayden #3 dipped his finger into the cake and denies it by grabbing her hand, Meap also grabs Candace's hand, as Suzy is about to have a a giant Matrix-like battle with Meap because of this, but Candace stops this by taking a picture of Brayden #3 dipping his finger into the cake and sends it to Suzy, allowing her to not fight Meap and goes to bust Brayden #3, as Meap heads off with Candace to stop Mitch.
Part 2[]
While the kids create Stabby Barf Pain, attracting Mitch to Earth, Candace and Meap investigate the location of the treasure, tracking it to the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri. The alien tourists start to trash the city, but the kids are able to wrangle them together through a performance. Candace and Meap get caught infiltrating Mitch's ship and "accidentally" reveal the location of the treasure; Mitch also steals Balloony, so Doofenshmirtz and Perry follow onto the ship. Just as Mitch pulls the Arch out of the ground, revealing the treasure underneath, the Alliance arrives learning Meap was telling the truth, forcing Mitch to flee; Doofenshmirtz prevents the ship from self-destructing. Mitch steals Meap's ship, but he and Candace trick Mitch into pressing the self-destruction button, and he's captured. The Alliance Commander rewards Candace for her bravery, and they take the boys' Stabby Barf Pain machine. Meap says goodbye to Candace, telling her he believes her "busting" obsession is actually a "justice" obsession.
The episode ends with Doofenshmirtz riding on a bus with Perry while questioning if there will be another Meap episode, before the narrator shows a brief clip of Suzy and Meap fighting, with Doofenshmirtz questioning if Suzy was supposed to fight Meap in this one. However, it turns out that all the trailers clips have been used, and the people cheer for this, with Doofenshmirtz admitting that it's a victory.

Candace: So if you're a fugitive from the alliance, can't they track your remote signal here to Earth? Meap: Yes. Yes, they can. |

Memorable Quotes[]
Alliance Commander: (gasps) Oh, man. You know how much paperwork this means? |
Candace: Well, Candace, you're at a Bango-Ru-themed birthday party for a little girl who despises you. I just hope no one objects to a giraffe marrying a lemur. Jeremy: (walking through stained-glass fence doors wearing a suit) Well, as a matter of fact, I object to this union. But only 'cause it's cuter than my shark-koala. |
Mrs. Garcia-Shapiro: So your wife is still in her stained glass phase? Mr. Johnson: (walking away) I don't wanna talk about it. |
Candace: Hey, did I see Perry on the invite?
Candace: Jerry the Platypus? |
Buford: Uh, if dis is an intervention, I don't think you guys are doin' it right. |
Major Monogram: Well, that was trippy. |
Phineas: VHS tapes? Ferb, aren't those extinct? |
Candace: Wait, how can I understand you without your mustache translator? Meap: Oh, we got new translators. (holds out his remote) That's why I sound like John Stamos. Have mercy. |
Suzy: Jeremy, Brayden #3 is dipping his finger into the cake and denying it! I wish I could bust him!
Candace: Pssh! Child's play. I could bust him with my hands tied behind my back. Suzy: Well, if it's so easy, why don't you show me? Come on. (grabs Candace's hand) Meap: (grabs Candace's other hand) We are on an important mission, young lady. Let us pass. Suzy: I don't think so, short stuff. I think you and I are about to have a giant Matrix-like battle. (Flash cut to Little Suzy and Meap in an arena surrounded by Bango-Ru's.) Suzy: In front of all these Bango-Ru toys! (The trailer shot tries to sneak in, but...) Candace: No, no, no, no, no. I'll do this. (Candace snaps a photo of Brayden #3 licking the cake and texts it to Suzy.) Suzy: Oh, guess we're not gonna fight. Brayden, you are so busted! |
I was forced to go rogue in order to prove Mitch is planning to build a vast criminal empire by finding the lost treasure of Zachariah Yore.
Buford: Who? (Cut to an exposition scroll.) Scroll: In the times of Yore, there was an intrepid explorer named Zachariah Yore. Young Zachariah was born to AnnaBeth and Josiah Yore in the outskirts of the small farming settlement of FarmTown. (The dramatic music winds down. Cut back to Buford.) Buford: Eh, I don't care that much. |
Phineas: The question is: how do we turn Earth into the ultimate vacation destination to lure Mitch here?
Baljeet: Wait! I know! Stabby Barf Pain! Candace: Excuse me? Stabby Barf Pain sounds like the worst thing ever! Baljeet: Stabby Barf Pain is the name of a theoretical fifth season that combines the best aspects of the other four seasons, winter, spring, summer, and fall into one! Flowers bloom as golden leaves fall from trees. Warm sun shines as beautiful snowflakes fill the air. A fifth season beyond all expectations! Candace: That's Stabby Barf Pain? Phineas: Yep. It gets its name from the scientist who theorized it. Dr. Sunny Gloriousweather. Yeah, he was bad at naming things. |
Doofenshmirtz: So far, not that much luck. Walking maniacally, that ain't happening. You saw. You saw. Neither is brushing my teeth maniacally. Asking for a shoe in size ten, maniacally. Going to the bathroom, maniacally. That was... That was a failure of epic proportions. You don't wanna know. |
I... I could use a non-latex second opinion, I... Please? Please?
(Perry reluctantly walks back.) Doofenshmirtz: Ah, see it's annoying, but it works! |
Alien 1: This place stinks. This isn't vacation weather. It's raining crustaceans. |
Phineas: Okay, maybe we made two. In case someone accidentally exploded it. I mean, the remote is ambiguous. |
Buford: Um, if yer done starin' into the distance, we gotta lotta work to do. |
Aliens: What do we want? The ultimate vacation destination! When do we want it? In the foreseeable future! |
Mitch: (to Hench-Robot) Set course to Earth. (laughs maniacally) That should appease those insufferable ingrates. Alien 3: We can still hear you! |
Doofenshmirtz: We'll have to take the bus because maniacal parallel parking turned out pretty much as expected.
(Whip pan to Norm inside the crashed car.) |
Mitch: Colin Jr. can head up the landing party. Speaking of which, where is Colin Ju— Ugh.
(Zoom out to reveal a balloon with a poorly drawn face caught on a ceiling fan's blades.) Hench-Robot: Sorry, sir. It happened again. |
(Perry beeps his watch and his platy-car arrives, and he flips into it.)
Doofenshmirtz: Seriously? You had this the whole time? Why were we taking the bus? (Trailer shot #9 comes back in to remind him.) Doofenshmirtz: (gets in the car) Oh, that's right. The trailer thing. |
Baby alien: It's pillaging weather, baby! |
Phineas: Buford!
(Zoom out to reveal Buford lifting a mailbox.) Buford: What? It's pillaging weather. |
Candace: I'm the girl who brought you down twice already.
Mitch: Me? But I'm just a totally innocent and legitimate business owner who has already paid his debt to society. Meap: "Totally innocent and legitimate business owner who's already paid his debt to society" my fuzzy white butt. |
Candace: You don't fool us! You're just here 'cause you know the treasure of Zachariah Yore's on this planet.
(Meap looks worried and covers Candace's mouth.) Mitch: The treasure is on the same planet as Colin and Stabby Barf Pain? What are the odds? Candace: Well, you're never gonna get to St. Louis before— (Meap covers her mouth again.) Meap: Shh! Candace: I'll stop talking now. |
Doofenshmirtz: Okay, Perry the Platypus, I've got an idea.
(Cut to two robots resembling Doof and Perry.) Doofenshmirtz: Okay, first thing's first, we gotta take down these robots that look like us. (Perry and Doof do so.) Doofenshmirtz: I mean, they look just like us. That's weird, right? |
Baljeet: Cleaning is fun! Buford: Okay, now you ruined it! |
Mitch: Once I get that treasure, I'll use the money to create my own army to destroy the Alliance! Or maybe Earth, first. I don't know the exact order, but there's going to be a lot of destroying. |
Mitch: The lost treasure case... Well, it's more a valise, but I found—Maybe it's more of a briefca—But it belongs to me! |
Alliance Commander: This is the Outer Worlds Commando Alliance.
Candace: Wow, good timing! Guess I leaked the St. Louis info at just the right time. Mitch: What on Earth are you talking about? Candace: You are so busted! |
Alliance Commander: Hang on, hang on, Mitch, have we literally caught you red handed stealin' the lost treasure of Yore, exactly as Meap warned us you were?
Mitch: Well, when you say it like that... Candace: You fell for the oldest trick in the book. Mitch: Well, well, well, you—Colin, cover my escape! |
Doofenshmirtz: Okay, I know that's just the air currents pushing you around, but that's still special! |
Doofenshmirtz: I guess in retrospect, I should've pressed that first. |
Mitch: I hope he won't mind me borrowing his silly little toy ship. |
Candace: Get away from him, you Mitch! |
Candace: Well, that worked. "Red turbo button."
Meap: I learned from the best. Shall we say it together? Meap and Candace: Busted! Candace: And with my hands actually tied behind my back! |
Doofenshmirtz: Wait, we're in St. Louis? When did that happen?! |
Alien 4: You know what? It's not as much fun anymore. It just feels like work. |
Alliance Commander: So what time you coming home tonight, baby?
Meap: Oh, I dunno, honey. Six... sevenish? Alliance Commander: (going back to her ship) Okay, cool. Remember that my mama is coming for dinner tonight. Phineas: Oh, so that's your wife. Meap: Yeah, no one ruthlessly hunts you across the galaxy like my Brenda. |
Candace: Oh, oh. And I was just about to call Mom on that. |
Candace: Maybe some good has come out of my busting obsession.
Meap: I don't think it's really a busting obsession. It's a justice obsession, and the day that you realize that, well, that just might be the day all your dreams start coming true. (Candace hugs Meap.) Buford: Nah, it's definitely a busting obsession. |
The counter counts the 12th and final clip from the trailer. A sign comes down acknowledging that they did it, confetti falls, and everyone else on the bus cheers in celebration. Doofenshmirtz: Alright. Alright. I guess that's a victory. |
Background Information[]
- Much like "Meapless in Seattle", this episode was originally intended to be a joke, being produced largely because of fan demand.
Production Information[]
- This episode was confirmed on May 4, 2023 by Dan Povenmire on TikTok.[1]
- In its registration, the episode's title is rendered as "The Chronicles of Meap: Meap Me in St. Louis".[2]
- On Disney+, the episode is called "The Chronicles of Meap Ep. 42 Meap Me in St. Louis".
- Disney superfan John Stamos replaces Lorenzo Lamas as the voice of Meap.
International Premieres[]
Errors[]
- Just like "Rollercoaster: The Musical!", Jerry the Platypus makes an appearance in this episode despite being destroyed as of "Cheer Up Candace".
- Perry's beak outline is black instead of orange when he's sleeping, but when he wakes up it changes to orange.
- Balloony returns but he was popped.
- It could be a possibility that either Doofenshmirtz or Perry found some way to fix him.
Continuity[]
- This episode is a sequel to "The Chronicles of Meap" and "Meapless in Seattle".
- Several of the alien characters are reused designs from the "Captain Implausible" cartoon seen in "Out of Toon", as well as the creatures on the Shooting Star Milkshake Bar in "Out to Launch" and the recurring Baby alien character.
Allusions[]
- Meet Me in St. Louis - The episode's title is a parody of the title of the 1944 Christmas musical film.
- The Matrix - Little Suzy Johnson namedrops the film when she and Meap are about to fight.
- Star Wars - The text crawl explaining Zachariah Yore is reminiscent of the opening title crawls from the Star Wars films.
- Alien - Candace says "Get away from him, you Mitch!", having previously said a similar line in "The Chronicles of Meap".
- Full House - When Meap reveals that his new translator makes him sound like John Stamos, he says Uncle Jesse's catchphrase, "Have mercy!"
Trivia[]
- A running gag throughout is calling Stabby Barf Pain "a theoretical fifth season", commenting on both a fifth season of the year, and also the fifth season of the series.
- This is the third episode to involve the seasons' fusion after "S'Winter" and "Minor Monogram".
- This is the third episode in Season 5 in which Perry doesn't battle Doofenshmirtz.
- There are several fourth wall breaks:
- Meap reveals his voice is similar to John Stamos' (his own voice actor).
- Doofenshmirtz mentions the scenes from the "trailer" and wonders if there's gonna be another The Chronicles of Meap trailer.
- The theme from Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe plays when Candace confronts Mitch.
- Unlike "Meapless in Seattle", the scenes that were originally used for the trailer now have a countdown for when they are used.
- This is the first appearance of Suzy since "Just Our Luck", and first speaking appearance since "Ferb TV".
- This is also her first appearance in the show's revival.
- Baljeet, Buford, Jeremy, and Suzy interact with Meap for the first time.
- Isabella has only one spoken line in this episode outside of the songs.
- At the end, the Alliance is referred to as the "Outer Worlds Commando Alliance", which has the same acronym as the Organization Without a Cool Acronym.
Usage of scenes in the fake trailer[]
- Zoom out to Earth aerial shot: Sixth scene used, with Buford screaming "NO" and it zooming out to the Earth shot in reaction to his bread bowl hot tub build being cancelled.
- Ships ramming into each other: First scene used, during opening chase between Meap and galactic alliance.
- Baljeet water skiing: Eighth scene used, during the "Stabby Barf Pain" musical number.
- Candace saying "Jerry the Platypus?": Fourth scene used, with Candace expressing confusion due to her thinking it was Perry who was invited.
- Jerry the Platypus waving: Third scene used, with Jeremy saying Suzy invited him to the party.
- Phineas saying "Ferb, aren't those extinct?": Fifth scene used, with Perry camouflaging his rocket car as a VHS tape blimp and Phineas seeing it and questioning it due to DVDs having led to the extinction of VHS tapes.
- Meap walking away from exploding spaceship: Seventh scene used, after Meap accidentally hit the self-destruct button on the ship, confusing it for the lock button.
- Jeremy walking through stained glass doors saying "As a matter of fact, I object to this union.": Second scene used, with Jeremy objecting to Candace's Bango-Ru doll due to it being cuter than his, walking through a stained glass fence due to his mother going through a stained glass phase.
- Doofenshmirtz singing on the bus: Ninth scene used, with Doofenshmirtz boarding a bus and him singing it. Later, Perry pulls out his rocket car and Doofenshmirtz asked him why they even got on the bus if he had his rocket car the whole time and he breaks the fourth wall by saying "Oh that's right, the trailer thing" after the pop up of the scene being used is shown again.
- Meap and Suzy fighting: Eleventh scene used, used in the only scene for a fake trailer for another sequel at the end. Had a fake set up during the episode as the sixth scene when Candace was needed by both Meap and Suzy (with Suzy setting up the fight for her) before Candace stopped the fight from happening and giving Suzy what she needed (photographic evidence to bust a party guest for dipping their finger into a cake) before leaving with Meap to stop Mitch.
- Meap saying "Meap" on top of the St. Louis Gateway Arch: Tenth scene used, with Meap jumping onto the arch after Mitch is defeated.
- Doofenshmirtz saying "Wasn’t that Suzy stuff supposed to be in this one?": Twelfth scene used, again referencing the scene being used in the trailer for this episode and ultimately going unused during the actual episode.
Differences from the fake trailer[]
- The scenes are redone to use the new animation style from Snipple Animation introduced with Candace Against the Universe.
- Jeremy and Meap's lines are dubbed over with their new voice actors.
- Baljeet, Candace, Phineas and Doofenshmirtz's lines are re-recorded in both the fake trailer and the actual episode.
- Phineas' scene now gave him his extra stripe on his shirt.
- Phineas' line "Ferb, aren't those extinct?" has been re-recorded.
- Doofenshmirtz says "Wasn't that Suzy stuff supposed to be in this one?" rather than "Hey, wasn't that Suzy stuff supposed to be in this one?" Later on he says "Wait, wasn't that Suzy stuff supposed to be in this one?" instead.
- While Meap is on the Gateway Arch, he is facing straight ahead in the fake trailer, but in the actual episode, he stands to the left.
- In the scene on the bus where Doofenshmirtz is singing, the shirt of the background character on the right is light purple instead of pale yellow like in the fake trailer.
