— Iron Man[src]

Iron Man is a superhero who works with the Avengers. A billionaire who uses a powered suit of armor to protect the world, he gets his powers drained by Doofenshmirtz and has to rely on Phineas and Ferb to get them back to save the Tri-State Area.

Biography[]

Background[]

Anthony Edward "Tony" Stark is a genius who inherits his father's company after his parents are killed in a car accident. One day, he is injured and captured by enemy forces, who order him to build weapons. With the help of a fellow prisoner, he instead constructs a power suit with a chest plate to protect his heart. Stark escapes and discovers that he cannot remove the fragment in his chest, forcing him to hide the plate beneath his shirt. Under the image of an industrialist playboy, he uses the identity of Iron Man to fight crime.

"Mission Marvel"[]

In New York City, he, along with the Hulk and Thor, fights a group of villains consisting of Whiplash, Venom, M.O.D.O.K., and Red Skull. Spider-Man arrives soon after, to Iron Man's surprise. Seeing the enemies' weapon, Stark notifies his companions to be wary. He takes an opportunity and shoots the machine from the side, knocking it down. The villains are then defeated, but the heroes are suddenly zapped, scaring their rivals into leaving. Confused, they try to follow them, only to find out that they have lost their powers. They decide to go back to S.H.I.E.L.D. to figure out the problem, for which Iron Man needs to be carried in a dolly.

At the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier, the source of the beam they were zapped by is confirmed by Nick Fury to be Danville, passing by a station satellite owned by Phineas and Ferb. With this information, the heroes go to the two kids' house in hopes of getting their powers back. There, they find out that the two brothers are not responsible for what happened. Over juice boxes, the heroes and the kids begin discussing a way to restore the powers. Candace walks in on the conversation, and is bewildered to meet her idols.

In the backyard, Phineas and Ferb unveil the base of operations for the mission, the S.H.E.D. Upon entering it, the heroes are surprised to discover that the inside is bigger than the outside. Thor points out a suit similar to that of Iron Man. Impressed, Stark suggests that the two could take a summer internship at Stark Industries, but they decline. A while later, the boys complete a machine to temporarily replicate the powers. Candace activates it before Ferb is finished with its setup, causing the heroes' abilities to be switched between them.

Having Thor's powers, Iron Man wonders if he can wield Mjolnir. Thor explains that he cannot, since he is not worthy, and that all of his abilities come from the hammer, to Stark's dismay. Despite the confusion, the heroes leave for the mall, where the villains are terrorizing. Even with the boys' help, they are beaten by their rivals, who capture them. Unexpectedly, a masked vigilante arrives and saves the heroes.

Regrouping at the S.H.E.D., they discover that their switched powers are running out. Fortunately, Baljeet, Buford, and Candace have been rebuilding the machine. Candace plugs it before it is done, making it zap Baljeet, turning him into Hulkjeet. Following her ban from the hideout, Phineas and Ferb work on repairing the Beak suit. Red Skull makes a public announcement threatening to drain the energy of the Tri-State Area if the heroes do not show up, forcing them to fight with no powers.

In downtown Danville, the heroes arrive by bus and are quickly beaten. Iron Man is thrown up into the air by Whiplash, and is caught by Hulkjeet, who brings him down. Stark then introduces Phineas and Ferb in the Beak suit and the masked platypus, all of whom join the battle. Out of nowhere, waffles start to rain from above, causing the villains to release the other heroes. Spider-Man takes the reactor core that powered the enemies' weapon, ensuing a fight. The core is guarded by the heroes, who resist the villains throughout a park whilst using its and nearby people's equipment.

The villains gather the core's parts, but the boys' falling space station smashes the weapon before it can fire. Candace and Isabella come out of the satellite and hand the tank collector to Phineas and Ferb, who release the powers that were stored in it. Back to normal, the heroes fight the villains one more time, detaining them. Afterwards, Iron Man and the others give their goodbyes to the gang. Stark gives his number to Ferb for an internship in the next summer, and flies away on the Quinjet with his companions.

Physical appearance[]

The Iron Man suit has robot-like red and gold armor with blue eyes. It has repulsors in the gloves, boots that allow the user to fly and fight, and an arc reactor in the chest, which keeps the user's heart beating.

Personality[]

He is good-willed and ingenious. Relying on Phineas and Ferb, he makes his desire to protect the city from the villains clear, willing to stand up to them without powers. Seeing the boys' construction, he is fascinated by their level of technology, being particularly interested on their own powered suit.

Relationships[]

The Avengers[]

Stark has positive relationships with his fellow heroes. He often plays with Spider-Man, Hulk, and Thor, but his snarky remarks usually go over their heads. In battle, their teamwork shines through, with their attacks complementing each other.

Villains[]

Stopping the villains is Stark's priority. Even without his suit, he swears to defeat them with everything he's got, as is the spirit of a hero.

Kids[]

Stark seems to appreciate the kids' work and dedication to their craft. He is especially impressed with Phineas and Ferb's skills, to the point of offering them an internship at Stark Industries.

Perry[]

Stark and his companions are saved by Perry, whom they think is a masked duck. Because of the platypus' earlier help, they agree to have him join in the final battle. He and Hulk give autographs to Perry during the fight.

Background Information[]

  • When Iron Man is hit by the Power-Drain-inator's ray, he is unable to move in his suit. To that, he comments that he wishes he hadn't drank a second cup of coffee beforehand. This is a joke on caffeine being diuretic, which means Stark would have to go to the bathroom soon enough.
  • While his companions watch the images of the space station and the boys, Iron Man asks them to move so he can also see it, as the Hulk and Thor are blocking his view.
  • In the discussion concerning how Thor's powers work, Iron Man jokes about the hammer's condition of worthiness instead of power, saying "potato, pohtato". This is a word play used to say that two things are practically the same.
  • In the two times that the heroes are beaten, Iron Man is tied by Whiplash, who is one of the villains in his comic books.
  • After the switched powers run out, Iron Man is able to move again, because Thor's strength had unlocked the joints of the suit.
  • As he is saved by Hulkjeet, Iron Man declares to the villains, "We have a Baljeet". This is a reference to the "We have a Hulk" quote from The Avengers.
  • Iron Man is voiced by Adrian Pasdar, reprising his role from the first three seasons of Avengers Assemble. Pasdar's guest appearance was revealed by Dan Povenmire on Twitter on May 7, 2013.[1]
