"I pack a bigger punch!"
— Hulk[src]

Hulk is a superhero who works with the Avengers. A mutate with incredible strength regulated by anger, he gets his powers drained by Doofenshmirtz and has to rely on Phineas and Ferb to get them back to save the Tri-State Area.

Biography[]

Background[]

Robert Bruce Banner is a scientist who partakes in the experimental detonation of a radioactive bomb. Noting that a teenager had entered the restricted area, Banner attempts to save him, and is accidentally exposed to gamma rays in the process. This alters the scientist's body, causing him to often transform into a humanoid monster. Initially, Banner's transformations are thought to be based on the sun, but they are later discovered to be powered by anger.

"Mission Marvel"[]

In New York City, he, along with Iron Man and Thor, fights a group of villains consisting of Whiplash, Venom, M.O.D.O.K., and Red Skull. Spider-Man arrives soon after, to Iron Man's surprise. Seeing the enemies' weapon, Stark notifies his companions to be wary, only for Hulk to be blasted. Iron Man takes an opportunity and shoots the machine from the side, and Banner follows by lifting and throwing it into a nearby river. The villains are then defeated, but the heroes are suddenly zapped, scaring their rivals into leaving. Confused, they try to follow them, only to find out that they have lost their powers, with Hulk being unable to smash. They then decide to go back to S.H.I.E.L.D. to figure out the problem.

At the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier, the source of the beam they were zapped by is confirmed by Nick Fury to be Danville, passing by a station satellite owned by Phineas and Ferb. With this information, the heroes go to the two kids' house in hopes of getting their powers back. There, they find out that the two brothers are not responsible for what happened. Over juice boxes, the heroes and the kids begin discussing a way to restore the powers. Candace walks in on the conversation, and is bewildered to meet her idols.

In the backyard, Phineas and Ferb unveil the base of operations for the mission, the S.H.E.D. Upon entering it, the heroes are surprised to discover that the inside is bigger than the outside. Hulk watches the presentation of the boys' suit, prompted by a comment by Thor regarding its similarities to Iron Man's. A while later, the boys complete a machine to temporarily replicate the powers. Candace activates it before Ferb is finished with its setup, causing the heroes' abilities to be switched between them.

Having Iron Man's powers, Hulk's intelligence is improved, but he cannot do much without a suit. Despite the confusion, the heroes leave for the mall, where the villains are terrorizing. Even with the boys' help, they are beaten by their rivals, who capture them. Unexpectedly, a masked vigilante arrives and saves the heroes.

Regrouping at the S.H.E.D., they discover that their switched powers are running out. Fortunately, Baljeet, Buford, and Candace have been rebuilding the machine. Candace plugs it before it is done, making it zap Baljeet, turning him into Hulkjeet. Following her ban from the hideout, Phineas and Ferb work on repairing the Beak suit. Red Skull makes a public announcement threatening to drain the energy of the Tri-State Area if the heroes do not show up, forcing them to fight with no powers.

In downtown Danville, the heroes arrive by bus and are quickly beaten. Hulk is wrapped by Venom alongside Thor, while Iron Man is thrown up to be caught by Hulkjeet. As Phineas and Ferb in the Beak suit and the masked platypus join the battle, waffles start to rain from above, causing the villains to release the trapped heroes. Spider-Man takes the reactor core that powered the enemies' weapon, ensuing a fight. The core is guarded by the heroes, who resist the villains throughout a park whilst using its and nearby people's equipment.

The villains gather the core's parts, but the boys' falling space station smashes the weapon before it can fire. Candace and Isabella come out of the satellite and hand the tank collector to Phineas and Ferb, who release the powers that were stored in it. Back to normal, the heroes fight the villains one more time, detaining them. Afterwards, Hulk and the others give their goodbyes to the gang. Banner plays with Baljeet by pretending to feel pain upon being fistbumped, and flies away on the Quinjet with his companions.

Physical appearance[]

Hulk is a large muscular humanoid with green skin, black hair, green eyes, and torn purple pants.

Personality[]

He is aggressive and rash. He tends to solve his problems with bruce force, using his fists to do the talking. Combined with his impulsiveness, he often comes off as ignorant and stubborn, having difficulties in doing simple things, such as putting a straw in a juice box, and refusing to listen to other's warnings.

Relationships[]

The Avengers[]

Hulk has positive relationships with his fellow heroes. He is often paired with Thor, whose strength is combined with his for a bigger advantage in combat. In battle, their teamwork shines through, with their attacks complementing each other.

Villains[]

Much like his teammates, Hulk's priority lies in stopping the villains' plans. Even without his strength, he steps up to combat, utilizing whatever he can as a substitute for his powers.

Kids[]

Hulk appreciates the kids' aid to him and his fellow heroes. He is particularly fond of Buford, who understands his preference of brawn, and Baljeet, who temporarily gets Hulk's powers.

Perry[]

Hulk and his companions are saved by Perry, whom they think is a masked duck. Because of the platypus' earlier help, they agree to have him join in the final battle. He and Iron Man give autographs to Perry during the fight.

Background Information[]

  • Hulk should have been reverted back to Bruce Banner when he is de-powered with the inator. This suggests he still maintains some of his gamma-based powers, though on a significantly smaller scale that is only enough to keep the Hulk form.
  • When he introduces the S.H.E.D., Phineas refers to the group as "Ladies and gentlemen...and Hulk", alluding to the fact that Hulk is the only hero not to be or resemble a human in his monster form.
  • Candace has written a fan-fiction in which Thor and Hulk learn ice skating. This is likely a parody of fan works where two characters are paired, in this case referencing the relationship between the two strong heroes.
  • Hulk is shown to have his intelligence improved after getting Iron Man's powers, despite his alter ego being a scientist; in his monster form, Banner does not retain his intellect.
  • Before entering the mall, Iron Man asks his companions if they are ready. To that, Hulk replies that he would feel better with a suit, referring to Stark's powers being mostly restricted to his armor.
  • Entering the mall, Spider-Man smashes the roof and screams "Spider-Man smash!". Afterwards, Hulk wonders if he was being made fun of, which Thor confirms.
  • During the fight at the mall, Hulk wears appliances, pots, and pans from a store to imitate an armor.
  • In the initial brawl at the park, Hulk uses a nearby kid's bicycle to keep up with Iron Man and Spider-Man, who are driving a golf cart.
  • Hulk is voiced by Fred Tatasciore, reprising his role from Avengers Assemble and other media. Tatasciore's guest appearance was revealed by Jeff "Swampy" Marsh on Twitter on April 23, 2013.[1]
  • In a special video for Animation Magazine, Tatasciore says that Hulk would be a teacher to Hulkjeet.[2]
