Haunted Hayride is the third 8x8 book based on Phineas and Ferb, published on July 27, 2010.
Book Summary[]
On a Halloween night, Isabella, Baljeet, and Buford head over to Phineas and Ferb's house, and find out they have transformed their backyard into a giant corn maze with scary decorations and eerie music. Phineas pops up from behind and Ferb appears driving a hay-filled wagon. Candace complains about the tractor's noise, and the gang jump in it and set off into the maze. Meanwhile, Perry receives his mission from Monogram and arrives in Doofenshmirtz's headquarters, where the doctor explains his plan to scare everyone with the Rampaging-Monster-inator.
Doofenshmirtz's invention is accidentally switched on, and Perry follows it to the center of Danville. In the corn maze, the gang is looking at all sorts of scary things when they hear a huge sound, proceeding to question what it was. At the same time, Candace is trying to find the boys, but ends up running from the giant robot towards Jeremy's house party to tell her mom what happened, to no avail. Back in the maze, the gang is getting worried about the noise, when they hit a dead end.
Fortunately, the tractor has a lownmower function which allows them to cut through the grass. Ferb then activates the vehicle's wings to fly away from the robot. Perry manages to catch the robot and switch its Rampage mode to the "Go Home" mode, causing it to head for Dr. Doofenshmirtz. After the gang is safe, they reunite with Perry, and Phineas proposes another hayride only to see the rest of the group exhausted.
