"Oh, hey, Isabella! We're playing Giant Darts!" — Phineas[src] |
Giant Darts is a city-wide game of darts organized by Phineas and Ferb to find out if they can hit a bullseye on a bigger scale.
History[]
Phineas and Ferb are getting ready to launch themselves from their front yard. Curious, Isabella wonders what they are planning, learning about the boys' giant game of darts in the process. At the same time, Baljeet and Buford set up the target across town. Following the angle adjustment, the brothers take off into the sky, accidentally breaking a sign in the way. Their first landing is on the outer ring, earning them no points.
Back at the yard, the boys initiate a second flight, this time hitting the one-point wedge. A third lift off occurs afterwards, during which Perry changes the dart's course by tipping the tail, moving his owners to the Danville Arena. There, they hit a bullseye in the floor, noticing their dad acting oddly as they look at the surroundings. Phineas and Ferb's presence returns Lawrence back to normal, and the three exit the place while conversing about their day ("Bullseye!").
Design[]
The giant dart has a red shaft, a grey barrel, a light grey tip, and a burgundy flight with a peach and salmon striped back. It is supported by a grey circular base with four black-tipped legs, inside which a white robotic hand is stored. The target is a typical black-white-red-green one with the outer, inner, and bullseye rings.
Mechanics[]
The giant dart is regulated using its metallic hand part, with which its angle and launch position can be set, allowing it to start the launch shortly thereafter. Points are accounted for in the same way as in the regular game, factoring the landing ring's number and multiplier in the overall sum.
Background Information[]
- When she learns about the boys' plan, Isabella playfully bets on them getting a bullseye, to which Phineas replies that it all depends on the little adjustments. This is a foreshadowing to the conclusion, where the brothers technically hit a bullseye, reiterating to their dad that it is thanks to the modifications.
- While Baljeet carries the target and keeps track of the score, Buford stays sitting in a chair. According to the latter, he is supervising the work of the former.
- For the first take off, the boys' launch angle is 33 degrees, as specified by Phineas.
- Buford orders Baljeet to write Phineas and Ferb's first score of zero points, prompting a sarcastic remark by the latter regarding the insignificance of that amount.
- In the first two landings, Baljeet exclaims that the brothers are approaching from the ten o'clock direction, referring to the position of the hour symbol in a clock.
- On the second landing, Buford says that the boys had hit the one-point marking, even though they are shown in the fourteen-point spot.
- Once the giant dart hits the arena, the center mark can be seen, but when Lawrence greets Phineas and Ferb, the mark is gone.
