"I'm sitting next to him."" — Fred

Fred Johnson is one of Candace and Jeremy's future children. He is the brother of Xavier and Amanda.

Biography

He and his brother Xavier are generally inactive, and constantly making note of how they are sitting in front of the digital tree in his backyard of the family, much to the chagrin of their sister Amanda.

His life takes a turning point, however, when by chance receives a visit from the age younger versions of his uncles, Phineas and Ferb. After the previous visit, Xavier and Fred build bumper cars that can move in five dimensions, but they still answer Amanda's questions about their activities with "Nothing", which bothers her to no end ("Phineas and Ferb's Quantum Boogaloo").

Personality

Xavier and Fred are as bright and creative, and build impossible contraptions just like Phineas and Ferb, although it took the younger version of their uncles to bring it out of them. Fred keeps talking about being next to something the few times he talks. ("I'm sitting next to him", "I like the kid standing next to him") 

Physical Appearance

Fred has blue eyes and brown hair. He wears a white and red baseball tee shirt, white shorts, and red sneakers.

Background Information

• Unlike his siblings, Fred's name was never mentioned prior to this episode; "Xavier" and "Amanda" are the two names that Candace had picked out for her future children after marrying Jeremy, as seen in "The Best Lazy Day Ever", "Swiss Family Phineas", and "Spa Day". Fred's inclusion is likely intended as a play on this theme, which implies that, alternatively, Candace changed plans or had more children than she expected.
  • Due to his siblings' names being mentioned before, it is highly likely that Jeremy is his father. Genetic evidence supports this, as his brother, Xavier, has the same blonde hair and light blue eyes as Jeremy.
    • This theory was confirmed by series co-creator Dan Povenmire during the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con convention.
• Fred has brown hair, in spite of his mother having red hair and his father having blond hair. While it is possible he inherited this trait from his maternal grandfather/the biological father of Candace, it is also possible he was adopted.
• Fred's, Xavier's, and Amanda's situation is analogous to Phineas, Ferb's, and Candace's except rather than trying to "bust" her brothers for doing something, Amanda tries to bust Xavier and Fred for doing nothing. This being the case, Fred resembles Ferb as he is the quieter of the pair and lets his brother do most of the talking. Additionally, he says that he likes Ferb while Xavier says he likes Phineas.
  • It is worth noting that Fred and Xavier were not originally interested in creating things, until Phineas and Ferb gave them the idea to create 5^th dimensional bumper cars.
• Isabella finds out that she is the future aunt to Amanda, and likewise, Fred. This means she is likely going to marry either Phineas or Ferb.
  • The episode "Act Your Age" confirmed that Phineas and Isabella start dating in the future. Thus, it is almost certain that she will marry Phineas and not Ferb.
