Forums: Index > Downtown Danville > Policy for Adding Song Articles (replywatchpurge)

In recent months, there has been some controversy/confusion about which songs should be added to this wiki. I believe it is time we established some rules about which songs should and shouldn't be posted.

The most controversial of the topics are the short jingles and cues that are used. Now my reasoning is if the jingle has words that are more than just the title, such as Paul Bunyan's Pancake Haus, So Peanutty, Tuff Gum and the Du Bois Landscape Artists Jingle, those are okay to post. But if it is only the title, like "Blorf", "Belchman", "Peter and Perry", or the "Tuff Shoo Laysizz" cue (which, I must stress, is not really a song, but spoken word over the "Tuff Gum" music), those shouldn't be posted. Is there an agreement here or is there any clarification needed?

P.S. There has also been some question about what to do with reprises/songs that have the same melody/extended versions of songs, especially since some of them have separate BMI numbers. What do you think we should do about those? - Jasonbres (talk) 12:31, June 13, 2014 (UTC)
