"Fish Out of Water" is a song about Buford's pet fish, Biff, who was lost during the episode "Voyage to the Bottom of Buford".
Lyrics[]
When I'm soaking in my bath
I dump you in the tub
There's no need to say another word,
You had me at "Glub"
Your bowl became my world,
So my world is empty now
All my love's caught in your filter
It needs to get to you somehow
They say that there's plenty of fish in the sea
but you're the only one for me,
Without you, I'm a fish out of water,
I'm hooked, please throw a line to me...
Demo version:[]
When i'm lonely in my bath
I dump you in my tub
There's no need to say another word,
You had me at "Glub"
Your bowl became my world,
So my world is empty now
All my love's caught in your filter
It needs to get to you somehow
They say that there's plenty of fish in the sea
but you're the only one for me,
Without you, I'm a fish out of water,
Like a bully with no nerd's groin to knee
Without you, I'm a fish out of water,
And Biff you're the only fish for me...
Background Information[]
- This is the second song to show someone's school. The first was "My Undead Mummy".
- The song is from Buford's POV, but he doesn't actually sing it.
- This is the only song Beverly Staunton sings on the show. She would later sing "Unsung Hero" in Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe.
- In the final scene which shows Buford and Biff sleeping, Biff's eyes are closed; fish cannot close their eyes in real life.
