“ | Doofus Khan, he has been a plague on our land for far too long! | ” |
— Princess Isabella |
In ancient feudal China, Princess Isabella is part ruler and Master Perry has given up the way of the warrior. After Phineas and Ferb witness Doofus Khan capture the Princess and take her as a prisoner, they track down Master Perry and convince him to teach them his warrior ways so they can rescue Princess Isabella and save China.
Episode Summary[]
In ancient China, a parade is going on. Buford is standing on Baljeet's shoulders to view the parade over the crowd, but he finds that it is not high enough. Phineas tells them that he has a better idea and they all climb on a big plank of wood. The plank begins to rise up and becomes a high wooden structure. On the ground, Candace spots the wooden structure and runs off to tell Mom. The four kids see Regent Monogram and Princess Isabella in a palanquin.
Candace tries to tell Linda about the structure, but Lawrence tells Linda that acrobats are on their way, so Linda ignores Candace. The acrobats turn out to be Doofus Khan's men and Princess Isabella is kidnapped by them. Regent Monogram receives a taunting scroll which shows Doofus Khan making a face at him. General Carl asks if he should send his army to attack but Regent Monogram can't risk endangering the Princess, and laments that Master Perry has retired and now resides on top of the Unclimbable Mountain of Unclimbableness and that someone should ask him for help. Phineas decides that they will go to persuade Master Perry.
Doofus Khan had kidnapped Princess Isabella with the intent of making Regent Monogram too helpless to prevent Doofus Khan from taking over the Tri-Province Area. He takes Isabella up a staircase, and pushes her into a dark room.
At the foot of the Unclimbable Mountain of Unclimbableness, Ferb uses a grappling hook and a carriage to carry them across the river. Phineas pulls a large machine out of his small bag, and they begin climbing the mountain. Candace follows them on foot and, after several attempts, crosses the Uncrossable River and starts climbing up the mountain, but she stumbles and falls.
Phineas and the others finally reach the top and see that Master Perry is flying a Chinese kite. They tell him about the situation and ask him why he left fighting. Master Perry then has a flashback, much to the boys' confusion. At last, Master Perry comes back from the flashback. Phineas says that if he will not come, he should teach them some fighting tactics; Perry agrees and leads them through an intense training regime.
After their training is complete, the boys again climb on the giant mobile jaou and go to fight Doofus Khan. Candace appears after the boys have left and asks Master Perry about them.
The boys reach Doofus Khan's castle at last. They crash inside the castle, in front of the booby trap staircase. Phineas and Ferb dodge the booby traps and tell Buford to fight the soldiers. Phineas reaches the top and, before he can break down her door, Princess Isabella comes rushing out and embraces Phineas. They slide down the railing and see that Buford has defeated all the soldiers.
They escape with Princess Isabella, but Doofus Khan sees them and brings out his controlled robotic dragon. He goes to Regent Monogram's castle. Regent Monogram asks him what he has done with the Princess and he replies that she hadn't run away. Regent Monogram tells Carl to duck, but he then gets hit by the dragon's tail.
The dragon starts burning areas around it. Suddenly, a giant terracotta warrior appears, which is being controlled by Phineas, Ferb, Baljeet, Buford, and Princess Isabella. It punches the dragon and the dragon tries to burn it. Candace comes over and sees the huge terracotta warrior, and runs away to tell Mom about it.
The dragon is slapped by the warrior, but the dragon tricks the warrior and pulls its key out. Without the key, the warrior tends to stop and is unable to fight. Doofus Khan's dragon picks up a Chinese house to throw on the warrior. Suddenly, Master Perry appears and climbs in the dragon's mouth, rolling its tongue back and revealing the key under it. Ferb pulls it out using a rope and Master Perry climbs out of the dragon's mouth.
The Chinese house picked up by the dragon falls on itself and the dragon begins to fall on the terracotta warrior. Phineas and others climb out of the warrior as the warrior breaks due to the dragon. Mom arrives only to a pile of rubble, much to Candace's disappointment. Princess Isabella meets Regent Monogram, they hug and are happy.
Doofus Khan is given a Chinese finger trap as handcuffs, which is stuck by General Carl on his hands. A taunting scroll sticks on his head, showing Regent Monogram teasing him. Regent Monogram thanks the boys and says that there should be a system to protect them from further attacks; Princess Isabella points out that the terracotta pieces would make a Great Wall. Many, many years later, an elderly Phineas and Ferb have completed building the Great Wall of China.

Memorable Quotes[]
Phineas: There it is, the Unclimbable Mountain of Unclimbableness.
Buford: You know what I hate about the Unclimbable Mountain of Unclimbableness, just to get there you have to cross the Uncrossable River of Uncrossableness. Baljeet: Who named all these things? Buford: That guy over there, the Redundant Scribe of Redundantness. |
Baljeet: Look, Chinese visirating fish! Although, here in China, I suppose they are called visirating fish.
Candace: "Oh, but here, we just call them"- (falls over the river and screams) |
Candace: Stupid mountain of stupidness!
Redundant Scribe of Redundantness: Actually, that was my original name for it! (Candace falls off the mountain, screaming) 'Redundant Scribe of Redundantness: Oops, my bad, sorry, my apologizes, mea culpa! |
Phineas: Master Perry, this is a great honor.
Buford: Can you believe he's a platypus? Baljeet: Phineas pulled a jaou with giant, mechanical feet out of his backpack and that is what bugs you? |
Phineas: Master Perry, are you sure you don't want to come with us?
(Perry begins rippling) Buford: He's doing it again. (they leave on another jaou, this one with a giant pogo stick attached to the bottom) All: Good bye, Master Perry! (Candace finally reaches the top of the mountain and is angry) Candace: Where are they? (Perry resumes rippling) You know I can't see anything, right? |
Phineas: Holy mackerel! how did you guys defeat all these soldiers?
Soldier: We're okay. Buford: There was nothing to it. (Buford starts rippling) Phineas: There's no time for flashbacks! We have to go! Buford: What flashback? I'm just rippling! It relaxes me. |
Regent Monogram: Doofus Khan, you barbarian!
Doofus Khan: I know I am, but what are you? Nah! Ha, you like the tongue? Set me back a week but totally worth it. Regent Monogram: Carl, duck! General Carl: No actually sir, it's a dra- (The mechanical dragon's tail hit him) Ow! Oh, that kinda duck. |
Doofus Khan: (while the giant robot goes into a crane position) Oh, look he's doing that "crane" thing. (the robot karate punches the dragon robot) Y'know, four centuries from now, that move is gonna be real cliché! |
As Mechanical dragon and Terracotta warrior clash Regent Monogram: They would love this over in Japan. |
Baljeet: He has the key to our defeat! Buford: You make puns when the other guy's down, dumbbell! |
Doofus Khan: Allow me to put you to sleep! (With his Mechanical dragon, Doof grabs a house and raises it in the air) |

Errors[]
- When Buford is standing on Baljeet's shoulders for a second time, Baljeet has 2 right hands.
- Ferb's bigger eye is in the front when Baljeet smacks the wood in "The Way of the Platypus".
- The Great Wall was actually built in 50-15 B.C., during the reign of the Qin dynasty.
- When Doofus Khan is leading Princess Isabella to the dungeon tower and the spear hits the wall next to the door, the red ribbon quickly disappears, but when Phineas and Ferb save her, the ribbon stays on the spear.
- When Doofus Khan sends Isabella to the dungeon tower, he locks the door so she can't escape, but when Phineas and Ferb arrive to save her, she opens the door from inside the cell.
- Princess Isabella's footwear changes constantly throughout the episode. After exiting the dungeon tower, she has black single strapped sandals; when she hugs Phineas, the sandals are pink; as she gets on the banister, she has her modern sneakers.
- When Phineas convinces Master Perry to fight Doofus Khan, for a split second Phineas' tongue is transparent.
- When Doofus Khan's dragon is fighting the terracotta warrior, the two people on the hill in front of them change.
- Some buildings are seen in flames when Doofus Khan invades the town, but when he fights against the giant terracota warrior, no buildings are seen under fire.
- Mahjong was actually first developed in the 19th century, not the 16th century when the episode takes place.
- In one frame, Ferb's forehead is not colored in.
- When Candace starts swinging across the rope before falling into the river while mocking Baljeet about eviscerating fish, her mouth is closed.

Allusions[]
- Genghis Khan - Doofus Khan's name is likely an allusion to the most successful Mongolian ruler Genghis Khan.
- Terracotta Army - The giant terracotta warrior is a reference to the famous collection of sculptures near the Qin Shi Huang's mausoleum.
- The 36th Chamber of Shaolin - In the film, the first chamber was a fountain whose water was supplied by acolytes carrying two buckets of water up a ramp to the top of the fountain, which is referenced in "The Way of the Platypus".
- The Empire Strikes Back - In "The Way of the Platypus", a Yoda-like character uses The Force to lift a heavy object, just like in the film.
- Rocky III - The ending of "The Way of the Platypus" where the gang strike dramatic fighting poses before the frame dissolves into an oil painting, is a reference to the ending of the film where Rocky begins his fight with Apollo Creed and after the first punch, a similar transition occurs with "Eye of the Tiger" playing in the background.
- Platoon - The part where Baljeet throws his arms in the air during "The Way of the Platypus" is a reference to the famous scene in this film, where Elias falls to his knees with arms in the air. This in turn was based off a famous Vietnam War picture.
- Godzilla - Doofus Khan's mecha dragon uses Godzilla's roar when it heads to the castle. The whole fight between the mecha dragon and terracotta warrior is similar to fights in the Godzilla movies. Regent Monogram alludes to that when he comments about how the Japanese would like the fight.
Trivia[]

- Candace doesn't interact with her brothers in this episode. Phineas and Ferb also don't interact with Linda and Lawrence in the episode.
- Doofus Khan making fun of the key placement on the terracota warrior being too obvious is a nod to his future version putting obvious self-destruct buttons on his inators.

- This is the third episode to have the word "Doof" in its title ("Hail Doofania!", "The Doof Side of the Moon").
