"Ferb and I are working on something that will give us all the best blackout ever!" — Phineas[src] |
The Blackout Invention is an esoteric machine built by Phineas and Ferb to seize an unexpected power outage period during an evening.
History[]
One night, the boys and Candace are relaxing in the living room, whilst their parents go out on a date. Being called, the teenager reassures the adults of there being no need to worry, hanging up on that note to continue watching television. A power outage abruptly occurs over town, disrupting the children's idle recreation in what the brothers ascribe to a broken fuse. Finding themselves in pitch black darkness, Phineas and Ferb move on to verify the circuit status, in the meantime of their sister obtaining a flashlight.
Heading outside, the boys realize the true range of the present blackout. They soon meet their friends, whose eyes have become the sole recognizable aspect in the dim scenario. Wanting to make the most out of the rare occasion, Phineas and Ferb get the idea to build an imperceptible contraption, swiftly starting to work together with the gang. Having none of that, Candace contacts her mother to report the obscure antics, but she winds up tripping and losing her phone on a chipper before she can conduct a further investigation on the plans.
Some time later, the group finalizes the project, readying its generator and structure. Persisting on knowing its nature, Candace tries to activate a defect flashlight to see it, unsucessfully. She decides to use touching in lieu of vision, though Phineas and Ferb advise to experience it for the best results. Accepting the offer, the big sister is propelled through a weird set of machinery, not discovering anything. Ultimately, the construction is taken away by a flying squad shortly thereafter, disappearing prior to the adults' return ("Blackout!").
Design[]
The Blackout Invention is a hidden device composed of gray steel walls, gray mechanical arms, light gray robot hands, five gray circular saws, five gray polygonal grabbers, several gray gears, a gray square platform, four black stretchers, light gray pipes, dark gray piping connectors, two gray compressors, a gray crusher, seven black steamrollers, a liquid pit, two gray wooled rollers, a gray conveyor belt, three gray square separators, five gray cutters, a gray five-blade fan, a black gear belt, and three gray shooters.
Mechanics[]
The Blackout Invention is a machinery assortment with an undisclosed purpose. It requires users to put their arms up while wearing a helmet, a mouthguard, and a lead apron for a safe exposure, despite little of it being clearly visible. Based on the utensils inserted, the contraption is probably related to the fabrication of an item inside pots.
Background Information[]
- Hunting a flashlight, Candace stumbles across a stapler, scissors, an old banana, and a chair next to a table.
- Performing a roll call in the backyard, the kids identify an additional child in the corner, who is donning an eyepatch to hide one of his eyeballs.
- To charge up the machine, Baljeet pedals on a bicycle generator prepared in advance by Phineas and Ferb. He is supposed to alternate with Buford, but the bully disguises himself to avoid labor.
- Isabella, Baljeet, and Buford utilize a crane to fine-tune the servomotor, an act misinterpreted by Candace as being the product of an anti-gravity device.
- Feeling the contraption, Candace touches a spot that she describes as "mushy-squshy", which is actually Perry's preferred space, as explained by Phineas.
- Once their sister is done riding the invention, the boys express their surprise on her seemingly uncovering another method of enjoying it.
- The gang's creation is borrowed by the Jetpack Squad for a man possessing huge crying eyes, with Phineas and Ferb's consent.
- When Linda tries to feel the invention at her daughter's request, she picks up a pointy surface. This turns out to be Phineas' head, revealed moments afterwards thanks to the outage's fixing.
