"Hey, sis. Wow, you seem pretty wiped out. Looks like you two could use a spa day." — Phineas[src] |
The Backyard Spa is a spa built by Phineas and Ferb to satiate their curiosity of visiting one.
History[]
Candace and Stacy are excited to have their first spa day, grabbing Phineas and Ferb's attention with the relaxation possibilities. Following a brief explanation of their endeavor, the girls leave the house, meeting up with Isabella at the front. Wishing them a good time, she enters the house to find out the boys' newest project, which is settled in the spur of the moment as a spa of their own.
With the help of Isabella, Baljeet, Buford, and the Fireside Girls, the brothers are able to gather the required materials, receiving two deliveries in the construction meantime. Later, Candace and Stacy miss their appointment thanks to the former being distracted by Jeremy all day. Reconciliating, the two walk up to the backyard, where they see a spa environment. The boys offer them an alleviation voyage through the place, which is hit by a ray, disappearing thereafter just before Linda can witness it ("Spa Day").
Design[]
The Backyard Spa is a spa environment with light grey and light blue walls, featuring a torch bowl sustained by two Greek-esque columns. Following a purple-lavender-pink palette, the space encompasses conveyor belts, a mud bathtub, a hot tub, hot springs, a hot stone heater, a waxing booth, massage mattresses, a salt scrub bed, a foot bath bucket, reclining chairs, an aromatherapy pool, a fountain, towels, parasols, and several decorative fern plants.
Activities[]
Treatments served in the Backyard Spa include hair washing, spine walking, mud bathing, bubble showering, hot spring leisuring, hot stone applying, warm tea drinking, waxing, facial puffering, massaging, salt scrubbing, foot cleaning, aromatherapy soothing, and free resting.
Background Information[]
- The examples given by Candace and Stacy of relaxation opportunities at a spa are algae-infused seaweed mud wrap, hot rock rub, and volcaninc mineral scrub. All three of these are incorporated in the boys' space in a simpler manner, being the mud bath, hot stones, and salt scrub, respectively.
- When Phineas proposes the plan to build a spa, he reminds Ferb that there will have a chance to perform the seaweed rap, a stiff version of the regular music style. This does eventually happen, with both of them singing a fast-paced number to showcase their creation.
- The materials obtained for the construction are a giant salt shaker, a scrubber, a cow, a bathtub, seaweed, literal volcanic rocks, and eighteen cases of cucumbers. As specified by Phineas, the first four are for the salt scrub and milk bath. To get the algae, Buford has to wrestle a familiar squid again.
- Receiving the magma, the boys are informed by the delivery man that they have to let it cool down before using it. This is a nod to the formation being composed of molten igneous rocks.
- In the initial pan of the place, Buford is shown enjoying a bubble bath, for which he states that it is not necessary to plug the tub in, demonstrating the efficiency of the spa's machinery.
- At first, Candace is urged to bust her brothers, but Stacy quickly shoots her down in favor of the opportunity in front of them.
- The Backyard Spa's theme song begins in a jazzy way, only to shift into a rap, subverting the usual expectations of it being exclusively a calming location.
- During the exhibition, Ferb mentions shiatsu, a Japanese alternative form of massage involving extra finger pressure in different parts of the body.
- Following the service to Candace and Stacy, Phineas declares that they are the last customers, as the spa is closing up. Letting the girls stay freely, the boys miss the disappearance of the place.
