2D Yourself is an adventure game based on Phineas and Ferb, released in June 2011 to advertise Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension.

Gameplay[]

The player can create up to six 2D avatars by choosing their features in the character creator or uploading a photo so that the customizer is able to mash up the available options to match the person's appearance as closely as possible. Once an avatar is completed, it can be downloaded for use as an icon or to obtain a regular image of it, and used to walk in Danville, where the player is tasked to find the parts of the Other Dimensionator. With all the pieces collected, the 2nd Dimension is unlocked; clicking the inator allows switching between dimensions. Along the way, there are missions for extra downloads, and interactable objects and characters that do certain actions when approached with the spacebar.

  • On July 11, 2011, the game was updated to include more characters, adding Love Händel singing a part of "Robot Riot".[2]
  • Another update seems to have been planned for the game, as two unused gnome and robot outfits can be found in the files. These are believed to be related to extra events that were going to happen, involving a hunt for gnomes and Norms or batteries.[3]
  • Not counting the color palette for the outfits, there are about 20.7 trillion possible male combinations and 27.2 trillion different female options, for a total of 47.9 trillion craftable avatars.
  • The sunglasses available for the avatars are the same ones used by Phineas and Ferb in "Lawn Gnome Beach Party of Terror".
  • While the first dimension Major Monogram does not appear in the overworld, he is present in the missions tab.
  • The tune played during the Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated elevator ride is a parody of typical elevator music.
  • The first dimension starts in the left, whilst the second dimension begins in the right. This is a play on them being parallel universes, in that they are mirror images of one another.
  • If the player does not jump for a period of time, a double jump can occur when pressing the up key twice. This likely happens due to input delay.
  • The site listed on each page of the 3D Phineas cutout PDF is "DisneyChannel.com/Holiday", which indicates that the template for the 3D Christmas cutouts was reused for this printable.
  • In addition to the 2nd Dimension character sheet, there were sheets for the 1st Dimension characters, inators, and inventions. It is unknown how these could be obtained.
  • The characters' lines used in the game were taken from Across the 2nd Dimension and the following episodes:
  • Aside from the character dialogue, there are two other voice lines:
    • Landing in the 1st Dimension: "We now return to suburban Danville where things continue to happen." by the Narrator, from "The Beak".
    • Traversing between dimensions: "Behold, the Other Dimensionator!" by Doofenshmirtz, from Across the 2nd Dimension.
  • The locations featured in the background are:

Dialogue error

  • The game was released in Latin America and Brazil with the titles Tú en 2D/Você em 2D ("You in 2D"). In these versions, the character dialogue is shown in speech bubbles.
    • In the Brazilian version, Isabella's line "What'cha doin'?" is shown as "O que é isso?" ("What is this?") instead of "O que estão fazendo?".
