The 12th Annual Phineas and Ferb Family Christmas was a televised variety special hosted by Phineas and Ferb that was broadcast across Danville during the summer. It featured the entire Flynn-Fletcher family, along with Isabella, Buford, Baljeet, and special guest star Kelly Clarkson. The special contained performances of popular holiday songs, and was sponsored by Wintobreath toothpaste.
Synopsis[]
The special mimics traditional Christmas variety shows, specifically those from the 1970s and 80s. In the host sequences, Phineas and Ferb's friends and family members come together for the holidays, but Phineas worries that Perry hasn't showed up yet. Isabella sings about her favorite part of the holiday season, while Buford and Baljeet perform an educational duet about King Wenceslas. The kids eventually open up their presents, and Phineas discovers that his pet platypus has been inside one of the gifts all along.
Location[]
The special is filmed inside of a television set built in the backyard of the Flynn-Fletcher house. It imitates a cozy log cabin, and contains a decorated Christmas tree with presents beneath it, a hearth with a fake fireplace, a 1980s television set, a calendar set to December, and a table which dispenses mugs of hot chocolate for the hosts and extras. The establishing shot of the log cabin seen in the special's opening credits shows a snowy landscape, and this same image can be seen on the calendar inside. During the ending scene, the entire set is teleported out of the backyard due to a stray blast from Dr. Doofenshmirtz's Transport-inator.
